Hey guys! Sorry it took me so long to update! After 5 years of home-school, I'm finally a freshman!
Anyways, I recently decided that Liam Hemsworth is going to be Bear. AWESOME!!!
I hope you like this chapter, and hopefully my writing will be better, because I'm in ALL ADVANCED CLASSES!!! Including English. YES!!!
Btw, all places mentioned in this book are NOT REAL. I completely made all of this up!
The song for this chapter is Leave Out All The Rest by Linkin Park.

I drive down the roads I used to use to go to the mall with my friends, utter silence in the car. Bear reaches over to turn on the radio.
" It won't work. " I say.
His hand stops.
" Doesn't hurt to try. " he says.
He turns on the radio and flips through the different stations. Static, static, and guess what? Static.
" Hm. Let me try AM radio. " Bear says.
He changes to AM and flips through those stations. More static. Then we here a voice on one of the stations.
" To all surviors who are listening, there is a small outpost for non-infected up on Liberal Mountain. We encourage all of you to come here. We have food, shelter, medicine. We can guarantee it is zombie free. Remember, Liberal Mountain, food, shelter, medicine. Please come. This is Ben Walker, Leader of the Survivor Outpost. " the voice says.
Silence.
Huh. I needed to re-locate, and I got a place to go to. Plus, medicine. My arm could heal even faster with that.
Liberal Mountain is small mountain right by our town. Supposedly George Washington lived there for a little while.
Apparently Bear has the same idea I do.
" We should go there. " he says.
" Good idea. It's only about a 15 minute drive. " I say.
More silence.
" So....... I wonder if anyone we know will be there! " Bear says.
He has no idea what he just did. Without warning, memories of my dead family and friends bodies I've seen on my walks flashes through my mind. I panic and almost swerve the car off the road into a tree.
" WOAH!!!!! SORRY IF I SAID SOMETHING WRONG! JESUS CHRIST! " Bear screams.
I grip the steering wheel, trying not to think about the dead bodies.
" Hey, are you crying? " Bear asks.
I lift my hand to my face and feel tears. Huh. I am crying.
" Sorry. " I say.
" It's alright. " he says.
More silence.
" Are you sure your okay? Do you want me to drive? " Bear asks.
" No, I'm fine. " I reply simply.
After about 10 minutes of MORE silence, we make it to Liberal Mountain. It isn't very big, but it's still beautiful. I steer towards the narrow road going up the mountain. It takes a lot of focus to drive on this road, with it being rocky and jagged. After a few minutes of driving, we finally make it to the outpost.
It looks like a prison, with spike wire-electric fences and stone towers, with men armed with guns. A voice comes over a loud intercom.
" Who are you? Are you survivors? " a man's voice says.
Bear and I get out of the car.
" We are survivors, and we aren't infected. My name is J- I mean Bear, and this is Pip. Can we please stay here? " Bear says.
Hm. I wonder what his name really is.
" Hang on a sec. " the man says.
We hear him talking quietly to someone else. Sounds young. Then the man comes back on.
" Alright, apparently someone here knows you Bear. Come on in. " the man says.
The gates open. We get back in the car and drive in. I look around. Everything looks rundown and poor, but hey, it's somewhere to stay. I see a parking lot - yeah, a parking lot - and park in one of the spots. When we get out, I see a boy, maybe a year older than me, run towards Bear. They have a big man hug, than Bear introduces him.
" Luke, this is Pip. Pip, Luke. He's my little brother. " Bear says.
