ZOMBIE STORY

A large black military Humvee with multiple dents and splatters of dried mud and blood on the tires, windows, and metal frame traveled down a typical northeastern road with broken down cars with smashed windows littered all over the place. The Humvee was like no other Humvee before it, it had been altered for the specific needs of the occupants; there were bars of thick, strong steel outside the windows, the bumper was covered with a heavy metal ram, the tires were made extra durable, and there were other alterations. The battle tested Humvee rolled to a dead stop at a road intersection where the now dormant cars had blocked the oversized vehicles path.

Inside the now resting military vehicle was the Alpha-One squad comprised entirely of young men all around the age of twenty-nine. The men dressed in black tactile vests and similarly colored camouflaged clothing with an assortment of weapons in their hands, on their belts, or attached to them in one manner or another.

The first to emerge was in the passenger seat; it was the leader of the squad, Sergeant Major Daniel Okachobi. The unusually tall military man carried with him the weapon that had saved his life more times then he would like to think about, his standard variation, FN SCAR-H battle rifle. His clothes were torn with dried out black blood mixed with mud all over his combat uniform from the multiple battles he had led and fought in. As his eyes scanned across the landscape he signaled to the rear of the Humvee.

A few seconds later, emerging from behind the driver's seat was the Sergeant Majors second in command, First Sergeant Kevin Sullivan, a short and powerfully built Asian man. As he exited the Humvee swiftly, he brought his weapon of choice, the H&K G3 rifle up and began sweeping his rifle and eyes across the tree line and area they had just entered. He then lowered his weapon and approached his commander, they engaged in quiet conversation then once they had finished their conversation, Kevin looked back into the vehicle and waved the remaining men out.

The first of the final two men to emerge was the driver of the vehicle, Sergeant Graeme Buster, his sharpshooter variant XM8 assault rifle already drawn and pointed out in front of the vehicle. The sergeant was a pasty white Canadian born soldier with many years experience of professional driving and martial arts training.

The next and final member of the Alpha-One Squad to emerge was another usually tall man who had a series of small scars across his face; his name was Sergeant Chris Black, whose destructive AA-12 automatic shotgun was held tightly in his grasp. He, along with the other men, began the procedures that they all had begun so many times on so many fields of battle beforehand.

"Area appears secure sir." Kevin told his commander.

"Good. Black, radio in to the Bus and tell them we have a possible class three." The Sergeant Major spoke as he cocked his rifle, "Tell them we're starting with phase one and will radio back at Fifteen-Thirty Zulu."

"Yes sir." Chris said as he reentered the front of the vehicle and began radioing in the necessary information on the team's aging radio.

"Sullivan, what's the lay of the land?" Daniel asked his second in command.

As Kevin whipped out his GPS unit he responded, "Well as we were driving up here it looks like there were some farms and open fields to the south and west of here. According to the GPS about two-tenth of a mile to the north there looks like, a school, and maybe a library, to the east about twenty miles away there's a large supermarket or mall of some sort."

"Okay, let's check out the school and library first, we'll gather supplies at the mall later." Daniel said, "Kevin, Take Sergeant Buster and hump it up to the school and check it out while Chris and I check the library."
