The sun was almost collapsing into the land in an explosion of colours which complimented themselves in the reflection of the waves like the stroke of a brush.
Footprints echoed in the sand, while also leading to a particular spot in which the two boys made an indent.
The sunset alone would have made the scene worthy of the adjective beautiful - but Nathan's hand slipped over Henry's- enhancing the situation further, drawing them somewhat closer.
They sat next to each other, barely touching - but their bodies felt familiar in the presence of each other and they both comfortably leaned back.
"Look Nathan, this... this can't happen any more," Henry pulled away and even so - through his emerald and sapphire enhanced eyes- tears threatened to fall onto his soft cheeks.
"Why not?" Nathan retracted his hand in a sudden reflex. "Do you.. do you not like me any more?"
Henry cupped his face with his hands and stared at him, and ever though Nathan hadn't muttered a word to God in his life- he was slowly and steadily convincing himself he would see heaven in Henry's eyes.
"No.. no it's not that.. don't you dare even suggest that.." Henry spoke at last, but it felt like after the ages he didn't speak - instead of through his words coming through his seemingly perfect lips- the words he uttered came directly through his heart.
"It's just..." he turned his head to stare out into the ocean, simultaneously running through the memories they shared faster than a bullet train.
As he turned back to Nathan, their fingers intertwined- commissioned by Henry. "My feelings are getting so much stronger.. and whenever you're not with me, I feel like there's a large empty space in my chest... I can't explain,"
Nathan drew his head closer and even through Henry's teary gaze - he could see Nathan eye his mouth. He dared to come closer and before he knew it- both of their eyes were closed and again they shared an intimate connection- but they both felt better than they ever have before in their lives.
Soon enough, they both pulled away - and the tears completely vanished. Nathan's aqua eyes shimmered in the light of the sunset and through then Henry could see into his soul - but reflected back he could see himself.
"Nathan, I don't kn-" Hushed by the other boy's finger pressed to his lip, Nathan sat up to fully look at his boyfriend in the face. Henry's cheeks were slightly reddened, and even now he hesitated to look Nathan directly in the eyes to save embarrassment - so instead he gave small glances.
"Please Henry, don't talk like that. You know I can't hold back in public, let alone when we're alone - I need this," He got closer to Henry again and Henry in response lay down on the beach towel- Nathan then crawling onto him, leaning down and kissing his forehead.
"Nathan, " Henry turned to look around them - luckily they were alone. As he turned back his face began to redden even more in colour.
