The night grew dark, and hundreds of figures began to filter out of the great hall. Grace was relieved that she could finally retreat to the comfort of her room and catch up on much needed rest. She turned right out of the hall heading towards her room, when suddenly she felt a faint tap on her shoulder. Immediately she turned, and was greeted with a warmly familiar grin, ''Grace, I'm heading to a friend of mine's for some drinks, would you like to come?'' Said the brown haired beauty stood before her.
Samantha was her name. Grace had spent some time with Samantha the previous day upon arriving at Trinity college, and instantly felt welcomed by her friendly air. Acquiring friends had always been challenging for Grace, and thus she felt it necessary to take up Samantha's offer. ''Yes, I'd like that,'' She replied with a warm smile.
''Great, well let's go then shall we?'' Samantha beamed, and swept her arm swiftly through Grace's, linking it tightly. Grace couldn't help but smirk to herself. She certainly wasn't accustomed to such lively and outgoing personalities, but it certainly made things a little more exciting. Although she was tired from the previous evening, she was anxious to see what the evening had ahead, certainly it would be nice to meet some more people.
The walk was short, perhaps only ten minutes or so, in which time Samantha and Grace exchanged stories of their day. Some metres ahead, Grace could see a group of male figures stumbling and falling. She could only hope that they were not heading to the same place.
The pair entered the house, and Grace was immediately hit by the scent of warm bodies and beverages. Looking around, there was not a familiar face in sight. This unsettled her slightly, but Samantha soon found somebody she recognised.
''Grace, there's someone i want you to meet,'' Samantha exclaimed, dragging Grace gently by the arm through the cramped space. Eventually we came to a handsome blonde, ''This is Aaron,'' He smiled warmly in response.
''We used to play lacrosse together,'' He chipped in
''Hi,'' Grace responded, reaching out my hand to meet his, ''Grace.''
''Oh, i don't believe we've met,'' Samantha's eyebrows raised as she turned to the boy beside Aaron.
Similarly to Aaron, he was very handsome, with a chiseled jaw and profound cheekbones. His hair was darker than Aaron's, slightly brown, with a glimmering tint of red beneath the dim lighting. He had been so quiet Grace had barely noticed his presence. Although, looking at him then, she couldn't fathom how he had gone unnoticed. He emanated a shy quality no doubt, but there was an underlying confidence hidden beneath the wide grin he wore, she was sure.
Within moments, a hand was being held out to hers. Her eyes traced up from the pale blue shirt he wore, until eventually her eyes met his.
''Eddie,'' A deep tone escaped his lips, followed by a grin, and a warm smile filled her face all the same.
