The pain was awful. It stabbed into my back, stomach, limbs, everywhere with an untamed, vicious ferocity. Biting, itching pinches up and down my spine tingled with every breath, until I couldn't even tell if I was breathing anymore. There was no possible way to move; everything was frozen in heart-stopping hurt.
I was wondering who I was. Where I was. If there even was a where anymore. All that mattered was the pain, the pain that made me want to die. Maybe I already was dead.
The light, the brightness of nowhere was burning my eyes, blinding me from seeing anything. Who knows; maybe I wouldn't be able to see anything anyway. I needed contacts, I suddenly remembered. Yes, contacts. What were those?
More pain, sharper, more inflicting than the rest. I wanted to cry out in anguish, with my head lifted to the sky in the nowhere, scream until my throat turned dry. But I was rendered immobile. Which was fine for now. It hurt too much anyway.
How did I get here again? Why was I here, in the nowhere? Not able to move, speak, remember. Oh, how badly I wanted to remember. I knew there were things I should be able to recall, but when reaching into the utmost reaches of my mind, I came up with nothing. No faces, no- Wait. A woman. A woman with glasses, no, contacts, she usually wore contacts like me. Yes, with long, blonde hair and small, barely visible, smile wrinkles around her eyes. Yes. My... My... Mother! Exactly!
Pain of horrible proportions slammed into me hard with the rewarding remembrance of her. Then- A man. He was tall, shocking blue eyes, whiskery chin. Serious but amused expression at all times, haha, that was my dad! My excitement grew, as did the pain.
The urge to remember held me in its grasp, and I continued searching with every bit of my strength left. The seething pain was leaving me a husk of nothingness in the nowhere, but I was determined to get something out of it. Who I was.
A group of identical boys with dirty blonde hair and rag-tag grins popped up in my mind's eye, and all I could do was recall the three's names with certainty. Fane, Flynn, and Felix, the triplets of the family, the mischief makers. They once served dirt in my food, and I, not realizing it, bit into my hamburger with a loud crunch and started to cry. Older brothers were the best.
My mouth began to salivate at the thought of food. Oh, yum... Delicious, carb fest French fries, a good Ginger Ale. What was food again? Oh yes.
It was starting to come back to me as the hot knives all over my body increased their stabbing rate by 50%. The light got brighter, causing stars to dance in my vision. The nowhere was becoming bigger, welcoming me inside its glorious gates, to a world of forgotten sorrows and heart ache from the past I couldn't remember. I almost let myself in without a fight- then remembered. I remembered my... Family, yes! Family! Oh, how I missed them, and I wanted to go home, I needed to go home, I was Felicity Kept, Felicity Kept, Felicity Kept!
Triumphant, I felt one last wave of intense, crippling pain before everything went dark and silent. I was dead. Or not quite. But I knew who I was- I was Felicity.
