Ive always been the girl that was never noticed. I was the only sibling and my parents split when I was only 8 years old. Always busy with business trips and work, they never seemed to have time for a daughter, or each other apparently. My mom and I left Jersey to Florida due to my moms' job and my dad, well, he stayed. I've lived here ever since. But that's all about to change.
Hi, I'm Malissa Coney. I feel alone at times and I truly ache for someone who understands and will care for me. Just a typical 17 year old High schooler. Anyways, right now my mom and I packing up our things and are heading to California for my moms' new station. I guess you could call me a military brat. I know it's normal to say its hard leaving, but truly I won't really miss this place. I'm not meant to be a small town girl. I dream of living in a place where there is different people and a new environment.
I guess there isn't much to say about me. Once my parents had their divorce, my mom and I have been real close. My past school experiences haven't been the best. All my life I've dealt with girls who hated me, and guys who never noticed me. I just hope this year in High school will be different.

Landing in California is a life changing experience. The beautiful beaches, the warm weather, people so different. I loved it! Now that we're here, my mom and I rush to baggage claim and load up in the taxi to enter Beacon County. As we sit in the taxi, my mom decides to give me a few 'tips' about what to expect. "Now sweety, there are just a few things to keep in mind" she explains, "don't try to get too caught up in the drama or boys" "Mom boys are least of my concerns" I say bluntly. "I'm serious! You are a very beautiful girl and I'm not gonna end up in those Teen Mom reality shows where everything goes to hell." Well thanks mom. The taxi driver did a slight laugh. My mom then starts flirting with the taxi driver! 'Gross! What is she thinking?' Not too long after, we arrived at Beacon Hills police station.
"Aww shoot, I forgot my wallet is in our carry ons!" Mom exclaims. "Don't worry about it" says the taxi driver "I can tell this is your first time here, so I'll let you guys off with a warning." Mom smiles and then thanks him. Before we got all our bags he asked for her name. "Saundra" she says and shakes his hand. My mom is very friendly...and tricky. As she bends down to get her bags I see her wallet in her back pocket. I smirked.
Across the street, in front of the station, I see my moms' friend and son ready to pick us up. My mom would talk about him here and there. A cop. I heard only little about his son. I believe his name was Stiles. They both seem pretty sweet. I just call him Mr. Stilinksi. Surprisingly, I expected more beaches and palm trees as we rode in his car. Nothing. Nothing but woods. Seems as if this town is nothing I haven't seen before. Stiles and I don't talk at all as we arrive towards our new house. Pulling up to out new home, my mom begins thanking Mr. Stilinski. "It's no problem, always a pleasure!" We begin to unload our luggage from his trunk and walk up and into our new home.
"Now girls if you need anything my son and I are right across the street. Nice seeing you again Saundra!" Stiles stares at me and begins to open his mouth as if he doesn't know what to say. I guess that makes both of us. "Let's go son". Mr. Stilinksi and Stiles close the front door and it's just me and my mom. We place our luggage against the living room wall.
"Well would you look at this place, huh?" Mom says as we begin to rest on the floor. I had to admit, it was amazing. Walking into a grand living room, all white with wooden floors. To the right, is a hallway, two doors looking opposite to one another. I assume it's our bedrooms. The door at the end of the hall was a bathroom. Turning left into the kitchen, has dark wood cabinets and an island counter. The roof was higher than I've ever seen! Back door to the kitchen led to the deck. 'Wow' I say to myself. I hadn't noticed we have been driving up a hill until I saw the towns view. I saw the school from here. My stomach soon began to curl. I'm so nervous to go to school Monday. I can't bear the thought. After unpacking, my mom and I sit in our unfurnished living room drinking hot chocolate on our blowup mattress while watching our favorite movies on our mini flat screen till we both fall asleep next to one another. 'This year. This year HAS to be different. It has to be.'
