You were in the lot watching Johnny and the others play football in the lot. You starred dreamily at him, he was your crush. You were just "passing by" and coincidently he was there. It was not coincidence, you knew he'd be there. You acted like you were taking a walk when the ball came towards you.
"Heads up!" Johnny yelled
You caught it with one hand swiftly.
"Nice catch y/n." Ponyboy said
You knew him from school but never really spoke. You shrugged trying to play it off like it was nothing. You were just glad you didn't make a fool of yourself. You walked over to Johnny, he spoke awkwardly with you once in the halls before but that's about it. You were inches apart.
"Loose something?" I ask
Johnny smirks shyly and takes the ball from me.
"GET SOME!" Dally yelled
Johnny shot him a look as his cheeks turned red.
"Cut it out Dal." Johnny said
"Why? Kiss your girly friend!" Dally teased
"She's not my girlfriend." Johnny mumbled almost as if he didn't want to be heard.
"Dallas! Cut it out will ya!" You yelled
"And if I don't?"
"I'll tell the fuzz you were the one that keyed Bucks car!" You yelled
Dallys face turned and he grimaced.
"Lil bastard deserved it..." Dally mumbled
It was Johnny's turn to laugh. By then I knew he was too shy to ask me out himself.
"Hey um... I was going to the movies at the nightly double tonight... You wanna join if you're up to it?" You ask as your ears turn pink.
Johnny blushed and smiled
"Sure, sounds fun! Meet you in the lot say seven-ish?" Johnny said
You grinned and kissed his cheek making him turn pink.
"Seven-ish."
You blush all the way home
