Heaven
Serene stared up at the blue sky, she was lying under an enormous tree her white wings spread out. She breathed in slow breaths as she observed the heavenly birds sat on the tree. They were building their nest, actually strengthening it. The little baby birds that were inside chirped happily at the sight of their parents. The satisfaction she got from watching this scenery bubbled inside of her.
Suddenly the ruffling of leaves on that same tree diverted her attention from the birds to another angel who was sitting on one of the branch. A boy seemingly of her cast and age, with brown hair and pale green eyes.
He was staring down at her, she felt awkwardly nude under his staring eyes. As gently as she could, Serene lifted the fabrics of her thin white dress and tried to cover the skin that was exposed to the boy's eyes.
The angel smirked down at her, Serene went numb and pity flooded through her. She thought about how beautiful this boy was and how dirty his thoughts were. At first sight itself she knee he was a tainted one. He had been corrupted, his white wings were partly black and Serene saw in his eyes dark malicious intentions. His halo was fading.
She got up having no intentions to stay there with him. He was no longer pure and innocent. She brushed away the dirt from her dress. She knew that his freedom was not going to last long, when the guards will find him, he will be driven out of heaven and thrown into the hole.
Not any hole, it was the hole to hell. She heard it was also called the hole of suffering. Serene walked away graciously, flapping her wings twice to drive out the leaves that had been stuck to them. But the strong grip on her arm made her stop. She breathed deeply and said in a firm voice,
"Flee for you still have time before the guards find you. Living among humans is far better than dwelling in fear with demons. You were once a part of heaven but now you are tainted and to their eyes you are damned so flee and never come back or you will suffer the punishment." She looked him right in his eyes and smiled sadly.
The boy looked taken aback and before he took off he said,
"Such wise words from such a naive soul." And he was gone.
Serene stood there for a while to pray for the boy. Then she walked back to her own calm and quiet world, Serene barely talked but when she does she uttered words to sooth and to calm. She was wise in her own way. She walked by the pond where two other angels were seated, a boy and a girl. They were twins, both beautiful.
'She looks so pure.' She could hear there thought. Serene was special in a way but angels didn't know about it. They never asked so she never spoke a word about it. Serene could read angels' mind but her power altered there as she was unable to read demons' mind. She couldn't read that boy's mind earlier as he was already damned.
'I haven't seen prettier than her. Could she be one of the powerful guardian angels? She looks so fragile still her aura seems to be the thickest.' Their thoughts were the same.
Serene thought of that as impressive. She walked passed them smiling at the two children of God. They both blushed and smiled back.
'How beautiful.' This time she heard only the boy's thought. The girl looked somewhat different but her face was showing off emotions that an angel should avoid. Jealousy
Serene approached her and took her hand,
"Be satisfied with what you have, it may be worth a million times what you want later on." She glared up at Serene but said nothing tears in eyes.
The girl didn't like Serene, it was clear. Serene without saying another word walked away. She felt a strange need inside of her, she wanted to see the hole, it was something strange she did often. Serene felt as if someone was waiting for her on the other side of the hole in hell.
She flew to the dungeon gates, for the hole was on the other side of the dungeon. The guards stood up as they saw her,
'The lady is as beautiful as ever.'though the guard on the right and then left one just stared at her and asked slowly,
"Yes Serene?" Lenathan was the left guard. He was her only friend but she knew he had feelings for her too. He had his sword latched to his metal belt that hung loosely on his golden armour.
"Hmmm.....I would like to go to the hole....." Lenathan looked at her, his eyes strickly said no but Serene knew he would agree. Lenathan knew about her powers to hear thought. He vowed never to reveal it.
"It might be the last time I'm allowing this. There will be no next time." He said sternly. Serene flew to him and pinched his cheeks, Lenathan gasped and blushed.
His partner's thought derived,
'What?! He let her do that! That is great! If only she noticed me.'Serene turned and pinched his cheeks too before leaving. She was so childish sometimes. The guard's mouth hung open and she laughed deeply. As soon as she approached the hole, the guard dog awoke and looked ready to attack but when he saw Serene he soften.
She walked to it and petted it's head. Then walking carefully to the edge of the hole, she peeped down. She did that every time, as if someone was looking up at her from there. She was fascinated at how deep the hole was. She always thought of having a trip down there even though it was prohibited.
'If she dies, no one will feel ugly. No one will feel impure and dirty. She needs to die. I don't care if the guard dog catches me but I will PUSH her down.' Before she had the time to react, Serene was pushed with brute force and she fell.
She didn't know who did it but she felt so foolish for not being able to do anything. She felt so weak, her wings were paralysed. Now she knew how it felt to fall into the hole to hell.
She closed her eyes and prepared herself for the blow. Serene for the first time felt helpless. She was damned forever now.
****Lenathan****
I felt something strange pass through the gate with Serene today. She smelled odd, something was tugging to her purity and naive attitude.
"Hmmm........I felt it too, something is off. I sense something fishy." Just when Marcus finished his sentence, the guard dog, I named Luvius groaled loudly, and I abandoned my post nodding at Marcus.
Luvius looked up sadly at me, next to him stood Clarisse smiling happily. Luvius' eyes shone with anger when he looked at her. I looked around searching for Serene.
"Where is she?" I asked Luvius. He looked at the hole and my heart went near to a stop. She.........was gone.
I looked at Clarisse and knew what she had done as her halo faded and her wings were now dark black.
"What have you done?!" My heart cried and my vision blurred.
Clarisse just laughed her head off and took off but I grabbed her ankles and brought her back down. She was a damned now, she must be killed. I took my sword in my hand and pushed it right through her chest. She gasped and fell off , laughter dying with her.
"I swear I will bring you back Serene." I whispered to myself.
My hands became fists and I marched towards the gates, leaving Luvius to grieve alone behind. I was not going to grieve someone who is still alive.
Instead I flew off to the grand castle where the archangels dwell. I needed to meet archangel Gabriel who was a girl. She was the left hand of God and she would surely help him.
Gabriel understood human feelings so she would understand him for sure.
