I run around the park grounds, my blonde hair flying through the air. My little brother, Jet, is chasing me. Isn't that what little brothers are supposed to do? I wouldn't have known. I have no aunts or uncles. My grandparents died before I was born. My dad was killed in a car accident when I was really young, right before my mother got pregnant with Jet. I never had thought that I would have a little brother. It was just my mom and I until now. It's like we're a real family, well, that's how it feels at least.
"Ok Jet, I got to run to the apartment really quickly! Stay right where you are." I tell him, panting. I run towards my apartment, which is right across the street. I open the door with my swipe card and enter the living room. I head towards the kitchen and grab two water bottles and four small packets of gummy bears. I lock the door behind me as I leave, and run back to the park. I find Jet swinging on an old and rusty swing set.
"No, Jet you can't go on that, it's not safe." I teach him. "Go on that one." I point to a big swing set that's new. He jumps off the old swing set and run to the new one. I feel like I have to teach him everything before kindergarten next year. He wasn't able to get in this year due to a small amount of openings. I push him and feel the cool breeze as his swing rushes past me. Soon, the sun starts to come down. We eat our packets of gummy bears and drink our waters. I wonder if my mom is home from work and has made dinner yet. Even after the gummy bears, I'm still starving.
"Come on Jet, we have to go back to the apartment now." I tell him.
"Ok Sammie." He replies. We walk hand in hand back to the apartment, or how I like to say it, into the sunset.
