chapter six
I was shaking. Or was that Sirena? Maybe Aquata?
Nevermind. It's all of us. The golden girls and I were moving slowly behind the mob of Merrs that were here to escort us out. Funny how some of my teachers are here. They must be so excited to watch me leave. Aquata was squeezing my hand as we started heading for shore. Closer and closer. Closer to the life that none of us had planned. Closer maybe to our death, triumph, who knows, maybe even some friends. Who am I kidding? I didn't even believe myself. As the mob started slow down, and then stop completely, they started to line up on either side of us. It was as if we were important. I mean, maybe we are. We were hesitant to start to swim in between the two lines of Merrs until we saw the Council at the end, gesturing for us to move foward.
They were wearing these ceremonial robes that I had studied in school. They were black, they looked velvet and were so long they fell to the seafloor. We were swimming through the lines until the Council had asked us to let go of our hands. When we let go I felt minuscular. I bet the golden girls felt the same since Aquata started to shake and Sirena did not have any snarky comments for us.
Once we got to the end of the lines, the Council started in unison "We thank you for your sacrifice and future service that you will serve an important cause: all of Merr-kind." Well this was creepy. After this, the Council moved onto the lines, except for the blonde that had escorted us to the room where the prophecy was earlier. "You can call me by my name you know, it's Glory" I forgot she could read minds. "Now here is what you will do"
"About 10 miles from here you will see an island. You will approach it with caution, we don't know if it's still deserted. There is an underwater entrance to an ocean pool, it's hidden under some mountains. Be warned, where we are sending you has different seasons. It might get cold, the pool might be a bit or a lot colder than what you are used to here in Coral. This pool will be your home for the duration of the mission."
Glory paused to turn around and look for something that was handed to her by one of the many Merrs there. They were coralites. Wow I had never seen one before and apparently the golden girls hadn't either.
Coralites are corals that have the shape of a wand. They are powered by sea water and the moon. "That's right" Gloria said, scaring me "These are in fact coralites. One for each of you" she said as she handed one to each of us "Use them with caution and never in front of any land people." Glory said giggling at her own joke "You will learn to use them like the Merrs before you did, with no preparation. It will come to you so don't worry you know how to use it, but you must really want it in order to get it right." Glory finished and the Council, with the mob of Merrs started to wave their goodbyes and us, the golden girls started to swim away from our old life and into our new one.
This is going to sound cheesy, but I think if we stick toghether, we will make it.
*******
Oh my gods of atlantis, I'm back!
I know, I know. I thought I was dead too.
Test week is over yay!! There were so many tests this week I even forgot a few. Writing again feels good I've missed it. On other news:
You guys, I have ten votes!
I know ten does not sound like a lot to some, but it's a lot for me. I honestly never thought that I would even get one vote so ten is a milestone. So I want to do something in celebration (I don't know, maybe another chapter *wink *wink)
So in the comments down below, tell me what you think I should do.
As always let me know of any grammar mistakes, comment, vote and share!!!!!! (if you deem the story worthy)
kisses

Golden Girl (NO LONGER UPDATING)
FantasíaDown here in Coral, things are great. Everything runs smoothly as the water between our multicolored tails, until, something happens. Me. You see, we've always had our standard color of tails. Red, blue and green. Except I was born with a gold one...
