I sat in a building near the building, waiting for the new kind to give his speech. Female elves who've worked with me in the bakery have said he was drooling handsome.

My legs crossed as I sat in boredom. "Can't a guy have a strong hero too? " I whined. I gasped as I heard footsteps. Looking out my window I listened closely.

H-he's the king!? I hopped from my window and down to the ground, sprinting over to another ledge to see closer.

"Wow, " I mumbled in awe. "Those girls were right... I wouldn't mind meeting him... "

I looked over and noticed he was looking at me. I blushed and waved slightly. He smirked and waved back, continuing to talk to the crowd. My jaw dropped, showing my awe for him.

I ran back and hopped over to my mother, who was working in kitchen in the bakery. "MA! MA! " I had called her. "The king waved at me! Maybe he could give me a job or help me out!!"

"Honey, " my mother sighed, her old frail hands gripped the rolling pin. "I don't think you should get your hopes up. I know you are into men, but not all men work like that... Please, just cut on the oven for me... "

"B-But mom! " I frowned.

"You're 18, y/n!" my mom grabbed my arm tightly. "Get real!!! "

She let go of me, putting her hands to her side. "Maybe you can't dream, ma, but I can...."

I ran outside, onto the streets. I heard my mom call my name repeatedly, but I ignored her, ready to escape her down on Earth house. I wanted excitement. I wanted adventure! I wanted freedo-!!

"Oh, I was looking for you," the king had said. I had blushed, ready to run the other way, only for me to be grabbed by the back of my shirt. I whimpered and looked up. "The names Sora. You? "

"Y-Y/n," y/n had mumbled, looking down.

"Nice name... "

I looked down to see a young girl clung to the king. She had a crown too.

"This is Shiro," Sora pointed to the girl. I nodded and waved shyly, my eyes turning towards the concrete.

"I see you're not a Imanity," Yora began, feeling my long pointy ears. "Why are you here, elf? "

"The elf country was not what me and my mom wanted, " I began, blushing as Yora felt it some more. "We think their cheaters and we didn't want that so we moved here. "

"Ah, I see, " Sora sighed, almost hitting my sensitive part of my ear. I almost collapsed into puddy in his arms.

"K-King Sora, would you like to come over for some cookies? " I had asked, gripping his shirt as he pet my head and rubbed my ears.

"Sure..."

He let go of my ears and grabbed my hand, following me towards the bakery. I entered my home and blushed as I saw my mom crying.

"M-Ma, " I mumbled. She looked up and gasped, quickly rubbing over to me and hugging me tightly. I always ran away, so what was different? "You told me to be real and I did... "

Mother looked up and gasped, seeing Sora the king stand in front of her. She bowed and waved. "It's very nice to meet you!" she had nodded. "Do you want some baked cookies?? "

"Yes please, " Sora mumbled, still holding my hand. "And if you don't mind, tell me more about your race..."

"Yes, we aren't really much of a fair race of people, " I mumbled, sitting down at the table. "They always cheat and help other races only to scam them. Before I was born, ma had moved out the territory and we were accepted into this country as the only elves to exist here."

"Do you practice magic? "

"That was the thing, " I smiled. "We aren't allowed to, nor are we allowed to go to see who wins king. I know bits of magic, but it's spells that plenty of 1st grade kids would know."

"I see, " Sora said, focusing on rubbing my ears. "So you can't go to king calls either..? "

"Well yes, we can, " I mumbled, thinking. "We just don't go..."

"Why? "

"We don't have money to go, " I looked away, blushing. "All we have us to support ourselves and keep the bakery open... "

"Ah, I see, " Sora got up and put his hands in his pocket. "You and you mother can live with me if you like. "

"Mm! That would be nice..." I got up and stared at the charming king and his princess. Im not surprised people are scared of him at this point, he's scary as it was.

There was a loud crash in the hallway. I looked over and called my mom's name. She didn't respond. I looked. In the hall and gasped.

"MA!?!?! " I yelled. I dropped ontonmy knees and shook her violently. She was laying lifelessly on the floor, the broken cookies and tea glass shards beside her.

Yora grabbed me and turned me away, hugging me tightly. I cursed and cried out, my heart pounding and sinking into my stomach. My eyes watered.

"MOMMY!!! "
