~I didn't expect to be updating at all. Sorry if this is a crappy chapter, I don't have the help of friends and I'm awful at description and that kinda thing, I'll try my best though.~
"What are you doing here?" the werewolf spat towards the pale man above him. Nearby, there is a rustle of movement, that slowly fades away indicating the deer had heard them, and got away before either wolf or vampire could feed on it.
"Oh, well done," calls the vampire, rolling his eyes in annoyance of lost prey,"Now neither of us shall eat." The figure sits on the large branch above the wolf's head, taunting Dan below him, who would only just not be able to grab the vampires feet if he tried to jump up.
Knowing there was no use in trying to kill the vampire there and then, Dan transformed back into his human form. He had pale skin, though not as pale as a vampires, and deep brown eyes with hair to match. Rubbing a hand through his hair, he tried to look casual though in fact was keeping on high alert in case that vampire was hungry enough to attack.
"What are you doing here," Dan asked again, his voice firm and commanding. He leant back against an old birch tree, twigs digging into his skin.
"I always wondered, where do your clothes go when you turn?" the vampire asked. If Dan couldn't see the vampires face so clearly, he would've thought the man was trying to work him up, but he could see in his pale blue eyes pure curiosity. Dan chuckled, a vampire curious of a werewolfs world, that's just as likely as that deer collapsing dead in front of him that very second.
Dan quickly looked at the ground, realising he had been staring up at the vampire, and not wanting the pale man to realise, even though he could feel the stare of the vampire that was sitting above him. Dan decided to answer the question to get off of that train of thought.
"I have never really thought about that," he replied, looking back up at the vampire he could see he was unsatisfied with the answer, a slight tilt in his head as he was deducing his own theory, but decided not to share, shaking his head, an amused smile on his face. Instead, the figure asked him different question.
"So, your name is?" he asked. He already knew the answer. His whole clan knew about Daniel. During the coldest, most bleak of winters, when food supplies dropped dangerously low for both wolf and vampire, Daniel would kill vampires for his feed. Each year for the last five years Phil's clan had lost around five of it's member to Daniel. Yet despite the hatred he felt towards this werewolf, he couldn't help but let his curious nature get to him. Damn himself.
"Call me Dan," the now human replied,"And so you are?"
Phil rubbed the back of his neck. He really shouldn't be talking to Daniel, no Dan, let alone giving his name. His name could lead to becoming acquaintances, then friends, until he finally would accidentally tell Dan where his clan lived and he would have to watch as his whole family was slaughtered right in front of his eyes due to his doing. He knew werewolves, they could and would kill everything in their paths when on a rampage, why Dan hasn't killed one puny vampire is a mystery.
Not only would becoming acquaintanced with a werewolf cause more killings then any friend would ever be worth, it was also a betrayal to his clan. Vampires always stayed with other vampires. It was against vampire law to feed on humans, though there was the exception of if you were a newly turned vampire, except there are very very few new vampires now, ever since a law came in to have it illegal to turn someone. If you broke either law, the punishment is death. And then there's the law of werewolves. Werewolves and vampires famously don't get along, and when the two monsters converse, it doesn't end well, usually with one or both dead, so, with help of messengers, there was an agreement to not have vampire clans and werewolf packs within a fifty-mile radius. But Daniel is a lone wolf, that law doesn't apply to him, but it still applies to Phil.
A faint 'hmm' came from below him. "I'm sorry Dan, I really shouldn't talk to you, I must go before my clan finds me," Phil replied as politely. He heard a soft sigh release from Dan's lips, and saw a small nod, before Dan turned back into a wolf.
"Maybe we will meet again vampire," Phil heard Dan say softly, before the wolf charged through the forwards, disappearing into the undergrowth.
Phil started travelling the other way by tree, until he thought he was far enough away from Dan to travel on the ground again. Phil was a rare exception in his family, with preferring to walk on the ground to the trees. He just preferred to be able to look up and see bright leaves compared to a dull, grey, cloudy sky, and to be able to look down and see thousands of different insects crawl through the piles of leaves scattered on the ground to a fifteen foot drop.
In the distance, Phil could see the abandoned house. His clan didn't live in the house, they all lived underneath it. A huge cave-system has been built over many generations to make it the perfect place for us vampires. To Phil, it was beautiful, seeing so many vampires in peace in one area live, play and hunt together. Phil couldn't think of anywhere better for a vampire.
A small shudder suddenly curled it's way down Phil's back. Though that was not cold, vampires couldn't feel the cold. How would his family react when he doesn't bring a single scrap home?
~Authors note~
Erm, much longer chapter, looking back on the other, I didn't realise how short it actually is. Tell me any spelling or grammar mistakes. This will be updated infrequently, also I have no plan to where this story will go, those suggestions would be cool. A Long Phil POV today calls for a long Dan POV next chapter, so I'll have fun writing that. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this, tips are always cool. So yeah, have a wonderful life guys.
