A Divine Warrior Rises Again

A Shadow of the Past

Aphmau's POV
"Fine, but you better wake me up when you get tired." I say,  laying on the sleeping bag Aaron lays out for me.
"Fair enough. Good night, Aphmau."
With that, I fall asleep.

   "Wake up......wake up....WAKE UP!!!" I somehow wake up after that voice that calls my name. Aaron is asleep and I see a shadow moving closer toward him with a sword in hand. "WATCH OUT!" I draw out my sword faster than I thought possible and block the attack toward Aaron just as he wakes up.
  "W-What the....?!" Aaron's eyes widen as he notices I can barely hold my position. The shadow smirks.
"Heh, you're stronger than I remember you. Much faster, too. You've improved." The sword is drawn back and slashed at me once again. Aaron tries to get up and I realize from the corner of my eye he cannot move.
   "N-No! I'm tied up!" Aaron struggles but the chains hold him in a painful position. I gasp as I realize I'm alone on this one.
    I begin to panic on the inside. Sweat drips down my face; 'Irene help me.' I whisper to myself. A cackle escapes the shadow's mouth. "You're giving yourself a little too much credit there, aren't you? Better than the weak kid I saw last who never believed in herself."
    Huh?! Who is this person?! From the voice, it sounds like a guy, maybe my age or older. Whoever he is, he's dangerous.
    He must be very strong because he is holding his sword with one hand. He lifts his other hand, an orb of a familiar dark magic bundles up. I react quickly with my foot kicking his hand so he can't cast the spell. He leans back but doesn't fall to the ground. He dashes towards me and I dash toward him, the wind of our swords clashing so strong I fall back with my sword next to me. I get up quickly, facing away from the shadow. I grab my sword and as I turn around, I gasp. The wind was somehow strong enough to blow away his mask, revealing a face I thought I would never see again. Terror fills my veins at the horrific reality. "Well well, Irene....we meet again...."
