"Just because everything's changing

Doesn't mean it's never been this way before

All you can do is try to know who your friends are

As you head off the war

Pick a star on the dark horizon and follow the light

You'll come back when it's over

No need to say goodbye"

- The Call

---

"No daddy, no! Don't go daddy!", I cried as I watched carrying a lot of huge suitcases to the car.

"I need to go, my applebee", he replied sadly. "I know you may not understand this now, but, somehow, someday, you will", he murmured to me as I hugged him tightly and cried even harder. "I will go home back too soon that you'll never realised I've been gone for a while, applebee".

"Tamara, come on honey. If you keep on hugging your dad like that, he's going to miss his flight", Rose, my family's maid whispered sadly to my ears. She scooped me away from my dad, and I cried harder and harder.

I saw daddy walked away and got into the limo, and then heard him mimicked towards the window, "I'm so sorry, my little applebee". As his car slowly got away from my sight, I couldn't handle the tears no more. I bent down on my knees, and curled up like a ball. Crybaby, I am.

Suddenly, I felt myself being lifted up into somebody's arms, enveloping me into a hug. I knew who it was without even looking at the person. It was Tyler.

"Don't cry, Tammie. I know he will come back soon", he said soothingly, and I felt my nerves settled down a bit at his presence. "Let's go back inside first, okay? It's almost late", he added a few seconds later.

He took my hand in his and we walked hand in hand inside my house. We sat for a few moment at the couch. After I was no longer crying, I slipped out a question to Tyler.

"Why did my daddy go, Ty?", I asked, then sniffled to his shirt. "Am I a bad girl?", I asked again.

Then Tyler chuckled and pinched my now red cheeks. "You're not a bad girl, Tammie. But if you keep on crying like that, it would legitly made you a very baaaad girl", he replied while wiping a few tears that were strolling at my cheeks. It made me laughed, though.

"But.. But Tyler, I still don't understand why did he leave me?", I whined in such an innocent sleepy voice of ten year old Cali girl, and then sweetly followed by my yawn.

"Whoa, Tammie, it's been such a long day. The circles under your eyes are getting so big that you look like a panda", he teased.

"No! You're lying Ty-ty, I don't look like a panda; you do!", I pouted then smacked his arms.

"Ouch! Stop it, Tammie, or else I will tickle you", he replied to me again.

"Oh yeah? You dare to do that?", I said while grinning. But soon after that, his face turned to a smuggly Tyler, with his hands ready to attact me. "No, no, no. You don't dare to do that, Ty-ty", I replied.

"Who said I don't?", he replied, chuckling, and all of a sudden I felt my stomach being tickled, and I laughed uncontrollably.

"St- Stop it- Ty- Tylerr!", I practically screamed on top of my lungs but then realised I couldn't even found a word to form. His hands were still tackling me. "Tristann, help!", I screamed again, and then I heard someone's footsteps from the kitchen.

"What are you two doing?", the person asked. Tyler seemed shocked that he suddenly released his deathly ticklish grip from me.

"Holy cheese, Tristan. You scared me", Tyler answered honestly and I could see his facial expression changed to a white pale face.

"Hahahaha- You should- have seen your face", I laughed again, but this time not because of Tyler's ticklish hands.

"Oh be quiet you, Tammie. And you, Tristan, what are you doing here? And you're from the.. kitchen?", he asked while his cheeks turned pink, embarassed.

Tristan looked at his little brother then turned to me. "Yeah bro, actually mom forced me to brought ice cream for Tamara".

"Ice cream for Tamara?", I practically asked due to my disbelief, happily.

"Yes, Tamara who lived at the corner of this road", Tyler replied evilly.

"What? There's a Tamara who lived there?", I asked again, this time almost cried.

"Of course, it's the Tamara a.k.a the prettiest girl in this whooole world", he teased.

"But- but, I don't care if she's pretty", I whined. "Can I have her ice cream?", I asked again, with my puppy eyes.

"No, because this ice cream is for Tamara, and you're not that Tamara", he said, grinning. With his reply, I started to cry in front of him. Tears started to roll down my face.

"Tyler! What did you do to her?", Tristan said angrily. "Hey, Tamara, what did he do?", he asked while his voice softened as he picked me up and scooped me in his arms. He's only a year apart from Tyler and I, but he's way more mature than the both of us.

"He..", I hiccuped. "He said the ice cream is for the Tamara who lived at the corner of this road, and- and, it's only for the prettiest girl in this world", I complained, while my tears started to dry a little.

"Hey, hey, don't cry babygirl", he said soothingly as he wiped a few tears in my face. "He's only joking. There's no Tamara who lived at the corner of this world- and the prettiest girl in this world is you, babygirl", he said more assuringly this time.

"Really? There's no Tamara beside me?", I asked again and hugged Tristan tighter.

"Actually, there is-", Tyler answered behind us but was cut by Tristan again.

"Tyler! When will you just grow up already?", he scolded to Tyler, and frantically I jumped from his hold.

"Whatever", I heard Tyler mumbled.

"Aplogize to Tamara now, Tyler", Tristan replied again.

"No way. No.", he said as he averted his gaze from me.

"Tyler, now", Tristan replied again, forcing his brother to apologize to me.

"Fine, fine. I'm sorry Tammie. Happy?", he apologised.

"Waay beyond happy", I said, chuckling.

"Hey, Tamara", Tristan cleared his throat. "Do you still want to eat your ice cream?", Tristan asked, pointing towards the ice cream, and my face changed again into a wide grin.

"Yeees", I yelled happily and jogged to the counter. "Ice cream!", I sang happily. "Tyler, do you wanna have some?", I asked while scooping some ice cream to my mouth.

"No", he mumbled again, his eyes now sticked to the TV show.

"Come on Ty-ty, don't be mad. Tristan doesn't hate you, right Tristan?", I asked gesturing to Tristan.

"Yeah, I'm not mad", he half whispered, but not so reassuring.

"Fine, but because you said so, Tammie", Tyler replied while pinching my cheeks. In a swift motion, he quickly stole my spoon and scooped the ice cream to his mouth.

"Hey! You stole my ice cream!", I shouted. He hurriedly ran to the living room, and I ran to catch him. "Fine, if you want it that way. I'm sure I'll catch you. Come on Tristan, let's find him!", I yelled while grabbing his arms.

And there I was, running to catch my neighbor happily, not even realised that soon enough time will made the three of us change.
