A shinning light burns thru a window near my bed. I get up and look out , looking out i realize 2 things; 1. My dad still needs to harvest are fields. 2. Today is Halloween and my birthday , my 8th birthday to be exact. I get myself out of bed and put my robe on, then scurry down stairs to the kitchen just when my step brother popped a piece of toast from are new toaster.
"Hey Will ," he smiled. "Hi Ryan." I replied. "So I hear it's someones birthday today!" He grinned impressed with himself after his statement. "Yeah I'm not in the mood..." I half smiled. " Aww common I guess u don't want cake for breakfast." "What?!?!" I whip my head around to see a piece a carrot cake in front of my face. "Eat it fast!" Ryan grins his perfect mouth and whips his perfect dark brown hair with his perfect green eyes. What can I say, he's a perfectly perfect older half brother who is, by the way, the one who takes care of me while dads of on his harvest conventions! Ryan is 18 years old and also is the one who all my friends have a crush on! Its awesome that all you friends want to come over, but not when all they want to do is go in your brothers room when you're not there and smell his pillows.You have no idea how bad it can be. One time my friend Wendy actually mad me go get her purse outside and the next time I saw Wendy she was kissing my brothers old teddy bear that he had when he was a kid.I mean EWW right?! I sigh at the thought. Noticing my sigh Ryan shows a sad face "You don't like the cake do you, I KNEW I should have put that extra icing on top!" As he over reacts I ran convicting him that it wasn't about the cake at all. "It was amazing!" I said trying to cheer him up! "I better run up stairs and take a shower." I said turning around heading for my room.

I came out of the shower taking a deep breath in, my 8th birthday was finally here. Slowly I walked out into my bedroom with my robe on and my long wet hair laying on the back of my robe and looked around. I couldn't wait to get to school. My best friend in the world was waiting for me right now, probably in the field between are two houses. I loved him like a brother, he was always there for me. I sighed and was startled by a noise loud enough to knock me out of my train of thought hit the window. I ran to it expecting what I would see, him. My best friend in the world, Alex, was outside throwing rocks at my windows. He mouthed the words "hurry up!" And I raced for my closet. I looked thru all my outfits one by one and chose my favourite simple shirt, a simple white t-shirt. I grabbed it quickly and put it on. Next I looked thru the drawers of my cub board for my pants. I quickly picked my jeans and got them on. Then I ran to the front door hoping on one foot putting my shoes on. Suddenly I remembered one thing, "my hair!" I muttered. I ran quickly to the nearest bathroom and grabbed a brush. Yelping in pain I ripped the knots out of my hair and put it up into a high pony tail. "Perfect." I say grinning.
Someone knocks at the door and I realize that I better hurry up, I run towards the door grabbing my backpack on the way and I open it to a smiling face "Willow," he says smiling mischievously. "Alex," I say smiling. "Race ya!" He yells turning on his heels heading for the dirt road. But I was too fast for him I ran right passed him and got to the road before he could fully turn around. "Sucker!" I smiled turning to him. "Oh yeah well at least I know-" he stopped in the middle of the sentence as if he was thinking it thru. I laughed and approached him. "My point exactly" I say grinning. We get to the fresher paved road my school is on. I could see it from there, a short building from all angles a block away from where me and Alex stood. I faced him and smiled "READING!" He yelled! I laughed "true, you know how to read" I state, of course I did too but Alex was amazing! He could read thru a book like nobody's business! I was starting to turn to keep walking when Alex got a distant look. "Alex?" I ask stopping my turn and facing him. "W-willy..." He says looking practically over my head. "What?! What is it?!" I say turning to see what he saw. That's when I saw it.
