Chapter 4

I wake up to faces all around me. One is my father and he is telling everyone to move away. He picks me up and sets me down on one of the stone benches that was nearby.

"Does it hurt anywhere?" he asks me.

I asses for any pain and feel it on the back of my neck. I tell him and he pushes back my hair so he can see.

"It has started. In the prophecy the girl receives a tattoo and then the knights will be next. The pain varies and so does the reveal of the tattoos, which means that you won't know when your tattoo will be burned into your skin." he says.

They looked concerned but they have no choice so there is no sense in complaining. It was five minutes later when Chansung said he could feel something warm on his shoulder blade. Everyone came to look and Jun-ho pulled down the collar of his shirt so we could see. There was a tattoo of a bear. We look to my father for an explanation.

"The knights are able to take on animal forms in order to protect you. The animal form is very powerful and they are usually bigger than the actual animal. It will take a while to bring their animal sides under control but none of them will harm you."

We are slowly starting to see that this prophecy is going to be one big pain. Why are we needed to do this, what is going to happen that calls for 14 knights? The next boy was Kai and he had no pain but felt the same warmth that Chansung did. His tattoo had formed on his wrist and it pictured a tiger. It was cool to see their tattoos but I had no idea what mine pictured. It took twenty minutes before another boy felt something. This time was unique because two got tattoos at the same time. They said the heat was unbearable and were sweating profusely. Yano had the Korean letters for German Sheppard. And RapMon had the letters of Tasmanian Devil inscribed on his back. It was high up and was scrolled across his shoulders. Yano's tattoo was on the right side of his neck. They probably felt more pain. Before anyone else felt pain the sun had gone down and we were starting to get hungry. 

"Let us go eat dinner while we wait. I am sure all of you are hungry." he says.

We all agree and rush to get to the kitchens for dinner. We eat a grand dinner since there are so many of us and no one else has any feelings of a tattoo. After our dinner we are all really tired and must all sleep together so we can find out if anyone else gets their tattoo. Also to make sure that the ones who have already gotten the tattoos don't change during the night and hurt themselves or others. I start to feel my eyes get heavy and I let them fall closed. It was a peaceful night with no interruptions.
