"Bye mom, I'll see you on Friday." I said to her while we embraced. "I'll call you when I'm not being buried under piles of work." I joked.

"Oh Jordi, I'll miss you." She said softly. Every Sunday, I said goodbye to my parents at the bus station, when my dad actually bothered to make an appearance that is. Then it was a 4 hour trip to university. My mom could drive me, but she had to be back at work the next day, so it wasn't practical. That, and my dad thinks its unsafe for her to drive back alone in the dark - always thinking like a cop.  "Be good pumpkin, and stay safe!"

"Yeah, no boys, no drugs, and always wear shoes." My dad added. This was one of the rare occasions where he tore himself from his work to bid me farewell. I chuckled and gave them each another hug before climbing in the bus. I went to the back of the bus where I always sat, and plonked down into the window seat. After a few minutes, the seats next to me were occupied, and my smile grew.

"Candi-licous, sexy-Lexi, how are you two babes doing this fine Sunday evening?" I asked, pretending to flirt.

"Not ready for this week. I have an assignment due for Wednesday and I've done the intro... That's it. Just the intro." Lexi sighed, and I sympathised. We chatted for a bit more, and waited for everyone to get on so we could depart.

The rows began to fill up, and there were only a few seats left. There's one seat four rows down, another two rows up and to the left, and then two directly in front of us. The last few people filed into the bus, though we paid no attention to them.

"Ladies." A familiar voice spoke.

"I thought you booked a bus for later on today." Candi said, the confusion evident in her voice.

"And miss a chance to see my favourite girl in the world? Oh, and my sister." He said with a wink in my direction. I ignored his obvious flirtation and rolled my eyes. "And Harry was booked for this bus, so I decided to come along." He smiled.

"Harry? Is going to be on this bus?" I asked, suddenly nervous. I have no reason to be, but after he asked for my number, he didn't text me.

"Yep, here I am." Harry spoke, sticking his head out from next to Jason. "How are you ladies doing today?" His green eyes looked at Alexia and Candice, but he made sure not to meet my gaze.

"We're good thank you." Lexi smiled, and then looked at me. I just smiled, and looked down at my phone.

"Can all passengers please take their seats, we are ready to depart." A voice sounded over the intercom. Jason shuffled in, making sure he sat in front of me. Harry glanced at me before taking his seat, and then quickly looked away. I wondered what I could have done for him to ignore me. Ugh whatever. No time for boy drama.

Two hours into the trip, and no word from Harry, I sat watching my second movie. The girls were asleep, and so was Jason. His soft snores filled the air, and I couldn't help but think that he could be cute when he wasn't so conceited. Harry's chair was pulled back, so I could see the side of his face. I paused my movie and just stared at his jaw, and the stubble that grew there. His nose, his eyebrow, his ear, his lips, his cheek bones, his eyelashes.

"I'm not sure if I should be flattered, or alarmed that you seem to have taken an interest in studying my face." He spoke suddenly. I was taken aback, not realising he noticed my staring.

"Sorry..." I mumbled, embarrassed. He turned to me and smiled slightly. The smile soon disappeared as he sighed. His eyes looked down at my hands, and then back at the book in his hands. His brow furrowed slightly and he shook his head before meeting my gaze.

"So you and Jason, huh?" He asked, clearly amused by the concept of the non-existent relationship. "He told me that as soon as you turn 21, he'll propose to you, and you two can finally be happy." I blinked. Once. Twice. And then the laughter bubbled up.

"That boy and his imagination, my word, he should switch majors from business to creative writing." I said while still chuckling softly. Harry seemed to find this funny too, and he began laughing too. Our laughter died down as quickly as it had started, and we were left with a comfortable silence.

Eventually Harry asked me what movie I was watching, and we spent the next hour chatting away about everything, but nothing at all. I learned that Harry loved to cook, he had an older sister, whom he loved to hate, and he plans to major in fine arts this year. He spoke so animatedly about his passions, and family, and hobbies, and i found myself captivated by every word he spoke. He listened to me attentively when I shared pieces of my life. I told him about my mother, and how she loved to sing, and about my dad's job as a detective, and how strict he was because of it. He laughed when I imitated my father giving me a speech about the birds and the bees. He laughed loudly at this but then covered his mouth when he realised people were asleep, which made us both laugh even harder.

I would like to think that when i eventually drifted off to sleep with a smile on my face, that i had made a good friend in Harry... And maybe, just maybe something more than just a friend.

"Sweet dreams, Jordi." were the last words I heard before images of green eyes, and long brown curls filled my dreams. I could only hope that I would have dreams this sweet every night, but then i wouldn't want to wake up.
