Chapter 16

 I felt his fingers work at the clasp and then felt it fall to the ground. He kissed all along my shoulder, my neck, and I turned my head slighty to meet his lips halfway. Then he helped me into the tub, it smelled of roses. The smile on Liam's face never faltered once even after I was in the water. A knock at the door pulled me back to reality.

 "Liam, Riley? We found the doctor, he wants to know how everything is going." Ali's voice rang through the room.

 "You can send him in, but only him. Riley wants it just us, if thats ok?" Liam was cautious. I nodded.

 "Whatever she needs, here comes the doctor, everyone away from the door." Ali commanded, I just laughed at her controlling personality. But my smile was replaced by a grimace.

 "Hey Riley. Hows everything going?" The doctor entered.

 "Well, a contraction is passing right now and it's a big one."

 "If it's alright with you, I'd like to see how dialated you are." Nodding was all I could do. As he did that, Liam peeked his head out the door. I knew everyone was sitting out there waiting with faited breath.

 "Lads, do you mind singing a bit of Irresistible, it helps relax Riley."

 "Of course, mate. How are you holding up?" Louis asked, while holding onto Ali.

 "It's wonderful. It may not be mine, but it may as well be. I cant tell you guys how beautiful she is and how happy I am." He smiled brightly.

 "Well, good news is  you're fully dialated you'll be feeling pressure in a moment or two, that'll be the baby, ready to come out." The doctor informed me, and within a second, I felt that pressure.

 "Boys, no matter how much screaming you hear, you have to keep singing, for Riley's sake."

 "Liam!" I yelled for him, needing him touching me for comfort, especially now.

 "I gotta go, keep singing." He ducked back in and sat on the edge of the tub, holding my hand and smiling. I heard the boy's beautiful voices filling my ears. When the lyrics got to Liam's part, he would sing them to me. I couldnt help but smile.

 "Alright, are we ready to have a baby?"

 "Yes." Liam and I both said in unison.

 "OK, on the count of three, I want you to push down for ten seconds and we'll repeat." I nodded, Liam kissed my knuckles, and squeezed my hand. "One...two...three."

 It took me nearly 15 times before that release of pressure. I heard those beautiful cries as Liam smiled widely and kissed me. Tears of joy streamed down his face.

 "It's a girl." Roars of cheers and happiness rang from outside the door. Then, a more confident version of Irresistible sounded. My baby girl was wrapped in a towel and placed in my arms. I cried happy tears.

 "You did it! I'm so proud of you." Liam kissed my lips and then the forehead of my little girl. "Hi little one. My name's Liam, but you can call me dad."

 "Congratulations."

 "Thank you, doctor, for everything. I really appreciate it." The doctor nodded and left the room.

 "Can we see her? How is she? When can we see them?" Louis sounded anxious. Everyone bombarded the doctor at the door.

 “She is fine, both of them. But, I would leave them be for the time being. I’m sure all Riley wants to do is sleep, maybe tomorrow. I’ll be back to make sure everything is still ok.”
