"I am blessed," Renditia announced joyfully to her friends while they were all gathered around her beautiful baby daughter.
She looked over at the ladies and said with the tear that hasn't imprisoned itself in her eye for the past month, "She will be so lucky to have four aunts who care for her so much."
"We couldn't agree more. She is also lucky to have such a devoted mother, who keeps drowning her with tears," Elizabeth said laughingly.
"Don't tease her so. She will start crying again," Prudence whispered to Elizabeth.
"I am just so happy that we are back in time for me to see her in her cute baby clothes and crib. Though I don't think she appreciates all the frocks Renditia," Ophelia said.
"I am also glad you came back just in time. You and Andrew simply disappeared after your wedding ceremony," Renditia said ignoring the last bit of Ophelia's announcement.
"Well you know how I always wanted to see Scotland and Andrew thought he had the perfect excuse to take us there until the house was ready for us to move into," Ophelia said.
The ladies were interrupted when Renditia's husband, Jack, came into the room with another gentleman in tow. He came directly to the crib and took his daughter out while he informally announced his guest, "Dear, do you remember Colonel Maximus? He is finally back from India and was visiting to congratulate us on the wedding. Little did he know." Jack finished while cooing to his baby daughter, looking like the silliest, most adorable, loving father in the world.
"Thank you for your visit Colonel. Have you met my friends?" And one by one the ladies were introduced to him.
He paid his regards and left the house seeing as how his friend was completely mesmerized by the miniature human he was currently holding.
"Who was that?" Ophelia asked after Jack had left the room.
"Didn't you hear his name?" Renditia asked completely oblivious to the underlying meaning of Ophelia's question.
"I do believe I have found a new hobby," announced Elizabeth.
"Which is?" Prudence asked frightened of the answer.
"Learning every single thing about Colonel Maximus," Elizabeth answered with a wistful look.
"Oh Lord help us," was Renditia's cry.
The ladies laughed for a moment and then of course started plotting.
