The Next Generation

Prologue

It was the year 1998 and Queen Onnika was about to give birth to the long awaited heir of Asgard. As the Queen's crying in pain roared throughout the castle, her beloved husband Thor was hastily making his way through the maze-like halls of the castle.

As he reaches the bed chambers, cries of a child could be heard sounding claps of thunder throughout the sky, smashing every window throughout the palace.

Opening the doors, he found his beloved holding his new-born child. As Onnika lay there, breathless and tired, she whispered the name of child ''Lavinia, her name shall be Lavinia.'' she said while motioning towards the sleeping baby. Thor was speechless, he could not believe that such power could come from a child. His child. Making his way towards his wife, he glanced down at his beloved daughter noticing she was staring at him quizzically yet her unusually purple eyes were filled with wonder. His wife could see that his eyes held with such love and joy, relief washed over her as she realised that he was okay-overjoyed even- that he had a daughter instead of a son like most would have expected, particularly for first born.

Taking a seat next to his wife, Thor and Onnika glanced down at their baby and took in all of her features. She had pale skin with hair as white and bright as lightning to match, lilac orbs framed with long thick lashes, her cheeks tinted a very pale pink with a button nose and cerise pink lips that's edges were tilted upwards forming an innocent smile. Her parents were in aww. Never before had they seen such a baby so sweet, so innocent though Thor knew the danger this child could inflict. He knew he would have to protect her more than ever, not only for the safety of his family but for the safety of the realms, and even more for herself. For if led into the wrong hands, the destruction and chaos would be unstoppable.

He quickly hushed his thoughts and continued to admire his family. He loved Onnika with all his heart and would've given up his entire kingdom to be with her. And Lavinia, now that he had Lavinia, he not only had a heir to the throne but his family was now complete. She was the missing piece of the puzzle and although there will be many hardships and times of sorrow he knows his family will always stand tall and rise again, because if someone picks a fight with them, they will roar, they will rampage and they will get their revenge. Because they are Asgardians!
