Chapter 5

Trying Out

☪ Carrie Evergreen ☪

"I finally get to play the stupid game..." I said grumpily. My whole Saturday should have been renamed to SAM DAY.

I sighed as I started up my computer. Yes, I know it's Summer break and I have all the time in the world to play this, but at the same time, I sort of want to go out with Max or Sam.

Yesterday, my parents came home late. I was watching a movie with Sam because I insisted he stay. I didn't hear the garage open at all. So, it was sorta awkward to see your mom look really excited and your dad look really confused.

I kicked him out with a sheepish grin. "Eheh... see ya?" Sam just waved with a smirk.

I walked back inside with an innocent grin. "May I help you with those groceries?" My mother was holding back her fit of giggles. It kinda worried me.

Anyway, I told Max that I would be on today. I was still a bit upset that someone would take Faker. Like, who even does that? Why Faker?

Maybe they have the same motivation like me. Still planning their death though.

I quickly called Max.

"YO BIATCH!"

I started to laugh.

"Sass much?"

I could imagine him smiling.

"Yeah yeah. So, have you even played ever since we got our summoner names?"

I scratched the back of my head.

"Um. Oops?"

Max sighed. "Alright, I'll teach you."

"Oh Lord, I love this champion."

Max chuckled. "Eh, I don't really like Annie. Not great with mages."

"WHHHAAAAT?! SHE'S SO CUTE THOUGH. AND TIBBERS IS LIKE HER FATHER. AND SHE SKIPS FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!"

We played a few bot games. It took me about a week to finally have a positive score.

During that week, I was sometimes interrupted by Sam.

Let me explain.

It was about 7 am. Usually around that time, my parents leave for work. I was still sleeping, when I heard a knock on my window. I'm a pretty light sleeper, so I jerked awake from a small knock.

"Whaaa? Who's knocking on my window at 7?" I rubbed sleep from my eyes before realizing.

Oh god it's an axe murderer. Oh god I'm gonna die. I haven't even said goodbye to Max or Sam. I'm dead already. Where am I? Oh god. Oh god. No no no.

Yes, those were my first thoughts. But can you blame me? How freaked out would you be if just something or someone was knocking on your window at 7 in the morning?

Because my parents weren't home, I snuck downstairs to grab a frying pan. I know, clichè and extremely fairy tail, but I can't just stab him with a steak knife.

I slowly walk up the starts like the characters in CoD, gripping the handle so tight my knuckles turned white. I looked like I just saw a ghost.

Ok, I thought, if those Disney princesses can do it, I can too. Just wack 'em dead.

I approached my window and rethought my great idea. Gah! Easier said than done!!

Taking deep breaths, I made a battle cry and opened the window with great momentum. I was about to smash the pan into the intruder when I realized.
