Believe in Him

deep evil lurking beneath cloaks of righteousness

with hands purified by holy water they preach a song of goodness

"to be one with God"

the masked figure can speak

"you must do his biding"

as unseen lips move rhythmically the room around them grows cold

the mask releases a cloud of breath, icy

creating a veil of fog before them and I

ans all stands still

they spoke with a soft voice, yet it was growing louder as the energy was sucked right from their followers

I am stronger than this false hope and lying faith

this being preaches of the wrong and right

as is they were my inner conscience

they speak of equality and shunning the different

for God must have made a mistake, this batch he created of individuals

it was wrong : imperfect

yet this man before me

the man with no face

just finished telling me

"God loves all of his children and makes no mistakes"

these people surrounding me

zombies - each and every one

not questioning words swept clumsily into their ears

scattering for answers - searching for a sign

I'm in need of an explanation

rushing to my feet, i make my way towards the door

to leave this house of God

Confused i will be no more - he catches me with a stern blue glare

Pulling back the over sized hood; now i can see who is there

a human, like you and I

torn at the seems with false hope sewn into his being of finally being laid to rest

relaying the secrets he was once told

of another man with hope for a new home

one up in heaven

where the big man will treat him right

but these men move on

spreading the word that God will one day save them all when he returns

returns to a world where his words have been twisted

by this man hoping for salvation

provided by God

his soft, hands adorned with not a single callus

blessing souls for their eternal sleep

they followed his word - believed every story

every passage written in the bible

never were they questioned once

God is our savior - and that is belief enough
