July 10, at Charles Regional Medical Center.

Layla waited impatiently for her husband while she endured the last stages of labor.

Layla's parents slowly started become furious with her husband taking his time as his own daughter was getting born.

Silence passed through the hospital room before Layla couldn't hold the baby girl anymore and soon gave birth to a 6 pound 4 ounce baby alone without her husband.

The baby had sparkling green emerald eyes and a tuft of jet black hair sprawling across her head.

As the day proceeded Layla's husband still hadn't made it to the hospital. No phone calls, no information of where he was.

Layla decided to name the baby, which was an important moment to any parents.

A nurse came in with the birth certificate and let her fill it out.

Layla grabbed a pen and slowly payed attention to the major things.

Name:___________

She picked her great grandmothers middle name, Maya.

Not getting a conclusion for her middle name she asked her parents who came up with sunny.

Layla thinking it was original she named her baby girl Maya Sunny Green.

The day soon closed off to an end with no husband.

With the lights off in the hospital room Layla let's her tears fall that were bottled up during the day.

The the next day, no husband.

The next week, no husband.

A month went by and she gave up. She had no road to follow to find her husband.

She became a single mom, a lifeless mom.

"Mom! Where's the white sandles?" I yelled up to my mom while standing near the front door of my house.

"I threw them out!" she yelled from upstairs.

"Why?!!" I screamed in shock.

"They were dirty! We can go buy some more later!" she yelled back enjoying the cliché family moment.

"My birthdays today! It's not suppose to be ruined by thrown out shoes! Agh!!" I yelled back smiling at her on the balcony.

"By, get me some nice gifts today. Let's see what 'dad' gets me this year." I shrugged off walking to my last year present a blue avalanche.

From my dad. Well supposively. Genitically.

Every year he sends me an amazing present, no return address, it just ends up in my house or in the backyard.

Which every year I've been regretting trying to use them, but they're amazing and I usually end up using them.

My mom on the other hand either has 'hope' of him coming back, or hatred for him giving luxuries to me and not giving me a loving, caring father.

So now I would just wait for my present today. It usually came around the time of my date of birth.

Jumping in my blue avalanche I grabbed my emergency mascara and brushed it on.

Putting on some sunglasses I blasted the pedal and sped off to school.

Blazing into the parking lot I was surrounded by a crowd of my friends with small presents in their hands.
