~ Chapter 4: Conference Room B ~

Picture of Saige on the side.

"I like it was there's a lot of chocolate sauce on the ice cream because then, it's like a little volcano and the peanuts are people and they're swimming in a river of chocolate like on Willy Wonka." Saige smiled eating his ice cream sundae. I smile as I licked my mint chocolate chip ice cream. My favorite.

"Can I have some of that volcano?" I smiled and he nodded liking his lips from chocolate. "So, how are you liking school so far?" I asked him.

"Good I guess, I like my teacher, Mrs. Cortez. She's really nice and pretty." He smiled.

"Prettier than me?!" I faked gasped.

"No body can be prettier than you momma." Saige frowned and I thought that was so cute seeing his eyebrows knitted together. I kissed his cheek making him smile.

"Well, one day you're going to meet someone very special to you and you'll think that they're the prettiest." I smiled eating the last bit of ice cream for the small cup. I can't wait to have that talk with him but I'm hardly prepare to have the talk about him shifting with him. That will be another ten years from now and I'm still learning all I can about wolves and raising a hybrid. How powerful they are. How the powers the parents have intensifies to incredible levels in the child. Most importantly, how different hybrids won't survive their first shift if wolf DNA is present. That scared me the most but I know I must not think that way. Saige was a tough kid, of course he'll be fine.

The weekend came and went and I was back in the office typing up forms for the meeting being held in a hour. Something about expanding the company or whatever. I spotted Nicole on her way over and it appeared that she had her wits about her. I hardly think she'll remember the game we played of would you rather?

"Hey girl, what's up? I haven't talk to ya since Carreta, something the matter?" She frowned.

"... It's nothing." I said.

"Oh come on, tell me. Was it something I said? You know I get a little loose at the mouth when I drink." She smiled tilting her head to the side in a understanding way.

"A drunk man speaks the truth." I said turning my attention towards the computer.

"That bad huh? Please tell me what I said! Kai, you know you're my only good friend in this world. Who's going to bail me out if and when I get arrested in Vegas?" She said and I laughed. "Please, I'm sorry for whatever I said Kai." She frowned. I eyed her for a minute before shrugging my shoulders.

"Fine, you really want to know what you said?" I asked and she nodded eagerly. "We were playing would you rather, remember? You asked me who would I rather, Donovan or Cameron. Then, you said you'll do them both and said light skins win in the end." I said rolling my eyes.

"Oh my God, I really need to stop drinking. Kai, you are the sexiest piece of ass in the office and everyone knows dark chocolate is an aphrodisiac." Nicole said smiling.

"It's whatever Nicole, really." I said going to print the forms. The meeting was called and held on the top floor in conference room B. There was a frosted glass door so you couldn't see in. The wall was made of glass also with the blinds were open. My eyes immediately met with Cameron's. He smirked looking at me from the head to toe as he stood at front the long table, fit to seat fourteen people. I tore my gaze away from him and handed Mr. Harris the forms before taking my seat next to him, as his assistant. Taking out the tablet that company provided, I was prepared to take notes when suddenly, I felt a hand on my knee. Instinct, I jumped and my eyes widen. The only person I was sitting next to was Mr. Harris.
