When Tracy went out of the quarters, the place was very moist and very quiet. She tried to push back all her misery filled tears, not wanting anyone to see how distressed she was. It was annoying that she had let Robert get to her. There was no reason to think he was interested, in marrying her or let alone in dating her, anyway. She was his type probably but just that Robert wasn't ready to settle with anyone yet.
His sudden question about her marriage life bugged her a lot. Tracy could not really contemplate why he only got to ask her after they had slept together. She was completely baffled. And she had all the rights to be mad about his rudeness. I mean, which sort of person says that after orgasm. Really? That was the worst.
And was she mad? Yes, she was. But more than that, she was hurt that he had brushed her off like some piece of cramp. And that was what he had done. I am keeping you from your date. He might as well have confessed, you know what Tracy, I don't like you. I only lied to get into your pants. So just sway along.
When, I came back to our home mansion, I invited Tracy to join me at the quarters. Well, the quarters was kind of like a doctor and nurses sort of award annual event. There, i had even planned to introduce Tracy to my boss and now lover, Joshua Sanders.
It was demeaning, and she had trouble holding in the tears. The truth was that she was attracted to Robert. That annoyed her even more. It was all wrong. So what if he was gorgeous. Robert certainly was not charming and did not seem to have a romantic bone in his body. Tracy needed to get over him, and as soon as possible.
Yet her embarrassment lingered. She then walked back into the quarters. "Would you like me to get you a snack or drink?" Aaron proposed upon seeing her but she had nearly forgotten Aaron was still standing there.
"Yes, can I have any hard drink please? I want it very dirty." She said.
While her date went to get the drink, which wouldn't take long, Tracy scanned the crowd for me. She needed emotional support and I was more than willing to give it to her. I walked all the way round the edge of the pool, past the stage up to the counter she was stilled at.
I then whispered something into her ear. Tracy brushed away the rolling tears. From the look on her face, I am sure she didn't know they were there.
"What is the problem sister?" I said but Tracy just gazed at me, and shook her head.
"I am such a fool."
"What did Robert do?"
My heart just knew it had to be Robert and if not, then I didn't know my sister any more. Not with the way she had confessed how great he made her feel.
"You know that, he is such a sting."
Tracy found a tough time to explain exactly what had happened, how she really felt. Tracy spotted Aaron heading their way. I will tell you more when Aaron goes away. I gave her an inquisitive look.
Tracy smiled at Aaron, not wanting him to know anything was going on.
Tracy shook her head.
"Tell me, do you miss anyone?" Aaron asked her.
"Nope. Not at all." She lied.
He got a glass of wine and handed to her. "Oh, thank you." she said to her date, then looked at me. I guess I will get back to you."
Aaron hated to look like super glue and so, he pecked her and left.
Tracy took a couple of sips of wine, while Aaron chatted with a friend. Thankfully, his attention was diverted. She needed to regain her composure if she planned to get through the evening. But Robert's absence had a potent effect on her. I waved her hands and called out, "Sweet sister, please come."
That evening did not progress any better than it started. Aaron had disappeared, much to Tracy's dismay. She did not know why she wanted to see him after what happened earlier, but she did. But it must have been that, at least Aaron had made her feel loved.
I tried to console her but it was all helpless until she suggested to head back home at least.
"Alright, but will it be fine if I just meet you back later on, am waiting for Joshua."
"It is fine, I understand. Hope I won't be dead." She said while galloping all the wine.
I knew she was just kidding.
No sooner had she left, than Joshua came in for the party. My heart was filled with joy.
This charming man had a certain appeal, although it was hard to say what it was. When I stood near him, my heart beat faster. Alone in the room with Joshua, and excited that he might make a pass at her, I had been overwhelmed. He was so far out of my league, or so I had thought. I had sat on the sofa, anticipating what such a gorgeous man wanted to say to me. Many things came to my mind. I was lost in my own world.
"Can I get you any drink gorgeous?" He asked while holding my waist and kissing me passionately. This was every man's anthem at the bar but he made it sound so damn special.
" White wine will do me just great. Thank you"
When Joshua left to go to get me drinks, my eyes met with Aaron's. He smirked and raised a glass summoning me to go over.
I just shrugged but made no attempt to move and that is when my mind drifted back to my sister.
Tracy had no interest in him, and even less since after meeting Robert. Her attention was on the one man who was wrong for her. He had behaved so badly, and was arrogant enough to disappear from her without a word.
I mean, he had clearly seen it was her but he pretended like as if nothing had happened. But amidst all this, Tracy really wanted to see him again, even if from across the room. It was not going to happen, nor should it. She had to endure the rest of the party, before telling Aaron to let her alone. Then she could bury her face in her own sorrow, in the privacy of her bathroom, and try to forget all about Robert Hook.
As I was still entangled in my own thoughts, I saw Tracy. I couldn't believe my eyes, but yes, there she was, walking towards me.
"I forgot my purse in the bathroom, silly me." She mumbled while pulling me to escort her.
"Wait, Joshua is coming back with my drinks. You should first meet him."
When her walking back, Tracy nearly collapsed when I told her he was Joshua.
"I am sorry. Are you talking about that guy in a red checked shirt?"
"Yes, I am. Do you know him?" I asked her puzzled.
"Oh my God yes. It is the guy I have been mumbling about, Robert."
