I felt the wind lightly blow against my cheek as I turned to look at her tears trickling down my face. She plastered on a fake smile and said one dreaded word. The word which I had despised, I had hated it all my life because it had caused me grief whenever I had found happiness. It chased me no matter where I went spreading the disease of my sadness. And that word was... Goodbye

"Hey wake up! Ange waaaaaaaaaake uuuuuuuuup!" A voice yelled.

"Go away" I mumbled sleepily covering my head with a pillow

"Fine by me if you want to be late for the first day of school" The voice continued

"Wait... WHAT?!" I removed the pillow quickly and saw the voice was my little sister Samantha (Sam for short).

"It's already 7:40" she chanted annoyingly.

"Sugar!" I yelled "I'm supposed to be at school at 8:00!"

My name is Angelique Grim and I'm your average 12 year old school girl. I've got two little sisters Samantha and Lottie, a busy mum who works at a huge company as a secretary to the owner, and a dad who is. Well how do you put this? To be frank he's useless.

He's been fired from heaps of jobs in the past 12 years, he can't cook, clean the only thing he was good at is telling stories. I remember when I was little he would tell me story after story, there were ones about evil pirates, fairy godmothers and beautiful princesses.

But not any more something had happened to him, one day the jolly, happy and funny person I had once known had turned into a bleak, boring man. He started being bleak and boring after his shop was shut down, it was a small toy shop of the edge of town. Dad didn't tell me why he lost his shop and I suppose he never will.

"Angelique hurry up!" My mother yelled "you'll make us all late!"

"Coming!" I replied.

I sat down on my usual bench waiting for someone who would never come. A friend. I had friends in the past, but they come and go like leaves caught in the wind. Suddenly I felt drips fall on my shoulders, I looked up at the dark grey clouds that covered the sky in a blanket, preventing our eyes to see beyond into the deep blue sky and shining sun.

"Great" I thought sarcastically "rain is just what I need right now!" I sat there watching the school kids scurry past to get out of the so called dreadful rain, I wondered what was so wrong with the rain, it seemed perfectly harmless to me. They kids stared at me wondering why I was just sitting there like a loon, I sighed and got up trudging slowly to my classroom. I shook the clear droplets from my hair and clothes, ignoring the offers of towels from my maths teacher.

I sit down at my old desk running my fingers over the cracks and crevices in it, "hem hem" a voice coughed trying to get my attention. I ignored them continuing to gaze of into space, "hem hem" the voice persistently carried on.

"Will you shut up?!" I thought "she reminds me of Umbridge" a smirk came across my lips and I looked up into the source of the voice. The source was a she, and a rather cross one at that.

"Need a cough drop much?" I said sarcastically wondering if she would get my Harry Potter reference, the source (my new personal nickname for her) raised an eyebrow

"You"re into Harry Potter?" She asked snoopily.

I gasped in mock horror "you have finally decided to talk instead of cough!" I earned my self a death stare that could easily rival my own.

"I'm only here to deliver a message" she scowled handing me a note that I easily recognised as my middle sisters scrawled writing.

"Honestly" i mumbled to know one in particular "I don't know how she ever passed her writing tests in NAPLAN"
