"Hello, sir. My name is Ranger Green. I have heard of your journey from Earth and am inspired. Could you describe it a little for me?"
I asked Commander General Cypher Raige, one of the two survivors of Crash 2407. Two weeks ago him and his son were rescued from the uninhabitable planet Earth.
Their ship became damaged after an asteroid storm and they managed to get one last transport in. They landed next to Earth. Commander General broke both of his legs in the crash and the ship split in two. His son Kitai had to journey off on his own to collect a beacon from the back of their ship and face off against an Ursa, a species made perfectly to destroy the human race.
"You're asking me to put my experience in words, correct Ranger?" He asked, looking me in the eyes while sipping his mug. I nodded and smiled.
"Well. You have heard of Earth, right, Ranger?" He asked.
"Absolutely, sir. I have been trying to find out as much as I can about it as I am interested by it's environment and life. I just would like to know more, sir." I spoke, watching as his wife brought him a refill.
"The life is evolved to kill humans, and so is the environment. You think that's interesting?" He gave me a look and an eyebrow raise waiting for the response.
"Permission to speak freely, sir?" I had to tell him and not hold back. Whether he liked the answer or not.
"Granted."
I sighed in relief.
"Thank you, sir. I'm sorry that you had to experience what you did, but it does not change my feelings about Earth at all. To me, it is a very complex and structured planet without us. We don't need to destroy it a second time, but I want to sponsor a research squad to collect and record data to see just how much it has changed. I am here, at your house, to ask what you thought of it and any experiences that were out for the ordinary. Anything is better than nothing, sir."
He seemed to be threatened with the words I had just spoken. He nodded surprisingly and called his wife over. He whispered into her ear and she smiled. She walked out and closed the door.
"My son, Kitai, was the one who encountered Earth's life and environment. He knows more than me about that subject, sir." He smiled and gave the hand to leave. I gathered my gloves and stood up. I put my hand to my forehead and saluted. He saluted back and stuck his arm out. I shuck it and walked away. I closed the door lightly behind me.
"Hello, Ranger Green. My name's Kitai." I looked behind me as I was walking out and saw Kitai Raige looking at me grinning. I turned around happily and shook his hand.
"Hello, Kitai. Call me Druid. That's my real name," I said, thinking of the possibilities of his experiences. I got right into it. "Your father has told me that you have experienced Earth more than him, and I would love to know more of your journey."
"Yeah. Sure. Follow me." He began walking to his living room and we sat down in the chairs, I across from him.
"What animals did you experience on Earth, Kitai?" I asked, preparing to right his answer on my notebook. He looked at me and spoke.
"Multiple different ones. When in the forest I found monkeys, and I was flying in my wing suit when a bird captured me and took me to it's nest. Baby birds were trying to eat me and these cat like creatures were climbing the tree trying to get to the nest. They broke the nest's shell and killed all the babies, but I tried saving them. The mom bird was heartbroken, and later on saved my life when the freeze had gotten to me. She pulled me into a nest in the ground and rested on top. The freeze killed her and her body kept the freeze from getting to me again."
I was shocked. The animal's had feelings! We had to begin immediately!
