I take a deep breathe as I fork up my entree. I wonder about Alexis running of with Mr. Lucas. Even though she felt the guy, something still made me shudder at the thought. I just wanted to say eww every time I'd think about them kissing. . . . Ew.
"Relax," Logan said, taking in a handful of cake that almost made my heart drop, about to see it fall onto his perfect tuxedo. "It's Mr. Lucas. I know he's great with her."
I gulp. That was really creepy. He read my mind. I mean, it's what I've been thinking for the passed ten minutes since she'd left. I look at him from across the table. "Well, what if he-"
"Don't jinx it, babe." he interrupts. He takes another bite and sits forward. "She's fine. I promise you."
"And how do you know this?"
He gives me a smile, then looks me close in the eyes. "I just know, okay?"
I roll my eyes. "Fine."
"Now, we're here,. . ." He starts, getting up from his seat. "Lets have a prom, shall we?" He comes to my side and holds out his hand. I couldn't help but grin and put my hand in his.
He pulls me close and takes me toward the photo booth.
"I don't like photos."
"But I do,"
He leads me over toward the booth, and in no time, we're taking pictures.
He wraps his arms around me gently, and pulls me close. I lean my head on his chest. God, this felt really good. The way he brings me back to life. . . There's nothing I won't sacrifice for -
"Say cheese low-wees!" A scrawny man behind the camera cheers.
I smile the best smile I could and say in unison with Logan, "cheese low-wees."

That wasn't so bad.
I take his hand and go to the photo area to see how our picture turned out. "Oh no, no, no! You can't see them until the end of the night!" A woman says from the other side of the desk. "Now go, go. There calling the prom King and Queen!"
My heart leaps a beat. I totally forgot. King and Queen.
I take a gulp and Logan drags me over through the curtains and out towards the stage.
"Wasn't voting last week?"
". . . Yeah." Logan says, pulling me close.
"Come one, come all! The big moment is finally here!"
We made it to the front of the stage and waited.
"Hurry! Hurry! Come on!"
People gathered quickly and cheered.
I sigh. It's already known that I wouldn't be me.
"Okay, so the Royal Court for tonight are right here! In this envelope, here!" Gabby cheers.
"And here we go! The Prom Queen of tonight's prom is. . . . . . . . . . . . "
She opens the envelope and reads the paper. Her expression twists in disappointment. Guess she wasn't part of the Royal Court tonight. . .
"Who's. . . Sharron Bar-grain?"
Just that second my fun mood melted. My heart just then said farewell and ran out my chest. Well . . . It can't be. It just can't. Her last name couldn't possibly be that, can it? She didn't even go here anymore! My answer laid in Logan's expression. I turn to him, and just that second I was about to die.
His eye's grew wide, and twitched. His face looked pale under the light. He drops my hand from his.
"Sharron? Sharron Bar-grain?"
People searched for the answer to shout out.
That couldn't be her. It just can't. It wouldn't make sense. She's in the hos-
"Right here!" A high pitched voice yelled from the back room. Just then I knew it was her.
My legs trembled.
