The loud screech echoed within her mind, making her flinch even in sleep. The place around her was dark, and there was not even a semblance of gravity, or even air for that matter. And yet, she could breathe. She could hear her breathes echoing throughout the strange place, between the screeches of the... the thing. What was this creature...?

A sudden whoosh made her start, as a huge shape, with tentacle like wings filled her vision.

She then woke up.

Breeze's eyes snapped open, and she sat straight up, her heart pounding. She grasped her chest with a clenched hand, trying to calm her frantic breathing. Just calm down, she told herself. It was only a stupid dream.

Breeze brushed a brown lock of hair out of her face, and glanced around, peering through the darkness at the people sharing her tent, the other two females in the journeying group. She let out a small sigh. Breeze's first choice would have been to journey alone, especially after the... incident many years ago. But her friends wouldn't allow that, and Professor Rowan himself even suggested that Breeze travel with other human beings for once.

It was stupid, Breeze felt. All she needed were her pokemon, her family.

She let out a small huff and plopped down on her back, then reaching to the side and grasping the familiar shape of her empoleon's pokeball. "Ah, Pedro," she muttered to the pokeball. "I had that dream again. How're you sleeping...?"

Soon, the breathing of her tentmates and the soft melody of the wind outside lulled Breeze back into sleep.

"Pedro!" Breeze wailed as her prinplup was knocked to the ground. "Get up, please...!"

The other trainer stared at Breeze with disbelief, with an expression that clearly said "are you nuts?! What are you doing here?"

"Prin..." Pedro groaned, trying to get into his feet, but to no avail as the yellow shape of the pikachu slammed into him, again and again with countless quick attacks.

"CHU!"

Breeze was jolted awake once again, but this time with the golden sunlight filtering through the openings of the tent. She let out a shriek as she heard the noise, but then found that there was laughter outside.

"God dammit, Gust!" Breeze yelled, shoving the said trainer's raichu away from herself and yanking the sleeping bag off of her. "That wasn't funny!"

"Uh, yeah!" Gust howled from outside. "You were sleeping like a log, and then I-- you--" she cracked up.

Breeze growled and grabbed her bag, stomping outside. "Do you want to fight me, Gust?!"

"Ah, uh..." Gust's laughter stopped quite abruptly. "Nope. Sorry. My bad. Whoopsie."

Storm, who was poking at their campfire with a stick, rolled his eyes. "I told you that you shouldn't have woken her up so early."

"But it's not early," the redhead sniffed.

"Nine o'clock is very early," Breeze muttered, grabbing her pokeballs so that her team could eat breakfast before the hike later today.

"Pol!" cawed Pedro as he was sent out, shaking out his feathers.

"Hey, 'Ro," Breeze smiled and patted Pedro on the wing. "You ready for later today?"

The empoleon nodded in affirmative, a steely look in his eyes.

Breeze chuckled and bent down to pet her glaceon, dubbed Midnight.
