8. Training

"So, what do you think would be the best way to get to The Magron Base?" Alicia wondered.

"Magic Circle." I replied immediately.

"Cool." She answered happily.

Alicia and I both made a platform of our own elemental power, jumped on, and flew away.

"You do realize that I'm only using my magic circle because of you." I said. "I could fly away at the speed of sound."

"I know. You told me that a thousand times." Alicia replied.

"A boy like you shouldn't be bragging."

"Who said that." I yelled. I pull out my staff.

"Hi, I'm Ethan." He said, "I was the... best friend... of Alexis." He paused before he said 'best friend'.

"She died because..." I started.

"Quiet." Alicia interrupted.

"Anyways, I came here to train you." He said, "I've trained with Alexis and picked up a few fighting moves that might help you."

"Fine." I replied. I still didn't trust him completely.

When we started, he told me to attack him without powers. I pulled out my staff and charged. I swung my staff at him, he ducked down to dodge. When I stuck the tip of my staff into the ground and swung my feet around, he jumped up to dodge. We kept going back and forth until eventually, I got tired and he managed to knock me aside. Alicia fared much better against him. She managed to land a few hits on him before she was thrown aside. As she threw her daggers at him, he sidestepped and caught them in the palm of his hand. Alicia closed her eyes. Then, the knife exploded in a burst of light.

"What?" Ethan wondered. "Didn't I say no powers."

"To beat someone like you, powers are necessary." Alicia said.

"Nice" I said smiling as I run to Alicia's side.

I turn my self into a rock and charge at Ethan. He leaps clear over my head. I smile Alicia jumps and crosses her swords which appeared in her hands. As she swung her swords, he leaped to avoid.

"It's like he knows what we're going to do before we do it." I say telepathically.

"Maybe he does." Alicia replied immediately, " Quick, what are your powers."

"Density shifting, lightning, minions, and skin change for now. More later when I'm fifteen." I think.

"Okay good." Alicia replied, "Change into a rock while I sneak up behind him to attack. Let's see how well we do"
