Fry sighed and popped his back as he got out of bed, twisting side to side to feel the satisfying snaps along his spine. He went to the bathroom and grabbed his toothbrush before hopping inside the shower. 'Why not do two things at once?' he thought. So as he finished brushing his teeth and washing his hair he stepped out and wrapped a towel around his waist. "Yo, meatbag." He turned to see Bender in the doorway, "Oh hi Bender, what's up?" And at the chance of getting to talk about himself, Bender launched into a lengthy and detailed explanation of all the heists and fires he set last night while Fry dried his hair.
Bender continued all through Fry getting dressed, getting his shoes on and all the way to work, when the stepped through the sliding doors of the common area Bender took a breath; "Man all this talking about me- glorious Bender- is wearing me out." He then moved to his little indent in the couch and flipped on the TV. Fry followed behind his robot and sat down next to him just as Leela walked in and scoffed at the two. The two were engrossed in an episode of Hypno-frog- once it switched to commercial Bender yawned; "Hey Fry, go get me a beer will ya?" Fry smiled and practically leaped up from the couch and went to the fridge to get some beers, leaving the mutant and the robot in the same room.
"Hey Bender, how are you this morning?" She asked as she moved to sit on the couch as well, "Well since you asked I'm..." He stopped short as Leela sat down where Fry previously sat next to him. Bender as calm as could be stood up, and pushed Leela all the way down to the opposite end of the couch before finishing his reply. "I'm great. 'Cause I'm Bender. And Bender's great." Leela just openly stared at Bender until Fry sat down loyally next to him and handed him his beer before popping the top on both his and Bender's beers.
"Fry," the mutant began exasperatedly, "Why the hell do you do everything for Bender?" Fry gasped, "I do not!" "Fry, cigar." The human quickly placed a cigar in the robot's mouth and lit it for him, dousing the flame of the match on the table. When he turned back to Leela she seemed smug. "Well that was a bad example, but I don't do everything for Bender." "Yes, you do! You even sit next to him every day! He just moved me so you could." Bender groaned, "Well maybe it's 'cause I prefer the meatbag to your hideous one eye sitting next to me?" "Yeah!" Fry humphed and crossed his arms taking a large sip of his beer. The purple haired cyclops just scoffed and sat back to watch the tv- which had left the commercials and was now a rerun of 'All My Circuits'.
"Good news everyone!" Later on, Prof. Farnsworth called everyone to the conference room, and he currently stood at his spot to inform them all of this 'good news'. "You have a delivery! But it also seems that I have terrible bunions on my aching feet! So Amy, Hermes, and Zoidberg will have to stay behind to help me remove them!" He pulled out a trowel and a bucket from beneath the table. "Unless you of you would like to stay and help out?" He turned to Leela, Fry, and Bender with the tools in hands and held them out in question. Leela sprung up and ran towards the ship with Bender, who had scooped up Fry and threw him over his shoulder before bolting. The ship took off into space, leaving the rest of the crew there, "Well goodbye then."
"Okay, Fry- where does the package say to deliver it to?" Leela asked from her seat at the wheel, Fry took a glance before calling over his shoulder. "It's-uh, at least three crates of uniforms, basketballs, and headbands heading to the Globetrotter planet." Fry nodded his head, that was quite a lot of headbands. "Okay, thanks Fry-" "Look out!" Leela was cut off and had to swerve to narrowly avoid being hit by an asteroid. "HEY!" She honked her horn and the spaceship in front of them, "Don't throw your trash out like that! You could hit someone!" Leela honked a few dozen times before zipping ahead of the rude drivers. "Dammit!"
Bender threw his now empty can of beer on the ground before shaking his head as the droplets of alcohol flew everywhere. Fry leaped into action, snatching up a towel and immediately drying Bender's hair. "Hey, I'm fine!" Bender pushed Fry away in annoyance to stand up and run his fingers through the extremely thin strands of metal wire. The human huffed before standing on his toes and drying his hair more forcefully, "If you leave it in, you could end up rusting, or some could leak into your hardware and really mess you up, Bender! Just let me help!" Bender grumbled but nonetheless gave up his struggles and bent down a bit to make it easier on Fry. And the earth is damned if Leela didn't see a blush stain his artificial cheeks. When Fry was done he bent down, picked up the beer can and left the room. Leela smirked at Bender and his flushed face when he saw it dissipated drastically; "What you looking at one eye?!" Fry walked in before Leela could retort with a brand-new beer and handed it to Bender. The robot further dismissed Leela and just sat back with his beer in hand and Fry by his side playing a game on one of the monitors of the deck.
The rest of the flight and the delivery went smoothly, in fact, Leela says that it was nice enough to call peaceful. The hover carrier was used by Fry as Leela carried her own box and Bender as well. On the way back to the ship Bender rode on the carrier as Fry pushed it along. "Hey guys, by the time we make it back, it'll probably be time to go home. You know the Professor likes to let everyone off early on his 'bunion days'. So how about we get something to eat?" Leela was ready for them to accept and name off a fattening and artery-clogging restaurant to eat from, where of course she would lecture them in healthier eating and maintaining their bodies. Where of course they would- "Nah- Me and Fry already got dinner plans. But you're free to pig out on ice cream while watching your romance movies and cryin' yourself to sleep. Like you do every night." Leela's eye than rolled as she scoffed, before it widened. "Wait, dinner plans with who? You guys don't have any friends," Fry ducked his head and even Bender looked a bit surprised.
"Well if you gotta know," he grinned, "We're cooking in tonight!" The robot was positively beaming while the human looked to be curling in on himself. 'Poor, poor Fry' she thought.
When they landed Leela pulled Fry aside to talk to him, "Here, you'll need these," she handed him a bottle of painkillers, "I'm so sorry Fry." Giving him a quick side hug she walked of solemnly to her home, praying for Fry's recovery that night. That poor boy. Bender came up and wrapped an arm around Fry's shoulders and pulled him to walk next to him all the way home. When inside he waltzed straight into the kitchen and came back out with a frilly cloth in hand and tossing it at him and sitting back to watch what was to unfold.
Fry tied the sash behind his back and looked at Bender in annoyance. Fry just standing there in his boxers and a white t-shirt; had a white apron with pink to red small frills on the straps; edge of the skirt and collar. The apron ended around thigh level, even because of that Fry was entirely content and comfortable in this perversion of cooking ware. "Well Bender, what do you want for dinner tonight? It's your turn to pick." The robot tapped his chin, "Well Fry, tonight I'm hungry for-"
