Brandon's POV:
After I finish recording Callie's song and putting it on her phone (she doesn't know that I took her phone or that it's on there) I go to her room to see her packing. "Need help?" I ask. She turns around and nods.
"Could you grab my phone from my nightstand please?" I hold back a laugh and hand her they phone. "Can I even keep this phone? I mean your moms gave it to me."
"Of course you can keep it." She nods and continues packing. "What do you need help with?"
"Um, could you just put that pile of jeans and shirts into this bag while I text Bill?" She asks pointing. I do as he told me to. Mariana must have taken her shopping at some point because when she first got here she had one outfit. "Bill will be here in an hour."
"Oh. Okay." I say putting a few more things in her bag for her. I notice she's wearing my sweatshirt. "You know that's my favorite sweatshirt right?" She looks down and blushes. She starts to take it off. "No, no, no," I say as I slip it back on her shoulders. "It looks better on you."
"Good 'cause I really didn't want to give it back." She smiles teasingly. "You know what your song reminded me of?" She says after a pause. I shake my head. "In Twilight Edward writes Bella a song on the piano for her birthday, she calls it her lullaby."
"The vampire stole my idea." I joke. She laughs.
"Yours was better. You didn't even do it for my birthday. You're a lot better than a vampire." She says.
"You're way better than Bella." I whisper in her ear. A shiver runs down her back as she blushes a deep red. When Callie sets her phone back down I pick it up. When I'm done with what I'm doing I put the phone back and bring Callie's bag downstairs.
"Are you two hungry?" Mom (Stef) asks.
"Yeah," we say in unison. We walking into the kitchen to see Mariana, Jesus, and mom sitting at the table eating pancakes.
"There pancakes, bacon, and hash browns," mom says.
"Where's Jude?" Callie asks. She sits down across from Mariana and Jesus and I sit next to her.
"Still sleeping. He can sleep through anything," Jesus tells her. We all laugh.
"Are you nervous?" Mariana asks Callie.
"A little, but I've moved foster homes before," she replies. Mariana just nods her head.
"How are you feeling B?" Mom asks.
"Fine. My head hurts a little, but other than that I'm just sore," I tell her. I see Callie flinch. I know she's remembering how I got hurt and who did it. I squeeze her knee lightly reassuring that everything is and will be okay.
Mom (Lena) walks in the kitchen after a few minutes of silence. "I thought you would be at school," Callie says.
"I couldn't have you leave without saying goodbye to you," she says with a smile.
"Oh. You didn't have to so that for me Lena, but thanks."
"You may not be living here anymore, but your still family Callie. You'll always be family," mom (Lena) says. As if on cue the doorbell rings. I know I'm still going to see her everyday, but I can't help but feel sad that she's leaving. "That must be Bill." Moms say as we all get up and go to the door.
Jude came rushing down the stairs in his pajamas. He must have heard the doorbell. Moms open the door and Bill comes in. Then for the hard part, saying goodbye.
Mariana insists on going first. She hugs Callie and whispers something in her ear making them both laugh. Then she gives her a gold locket with the word sisters written on it. Then they hug again and both start crying.
Next was Jesus. Him and Callie hug. He jokes that if her new foster brother gives her any trouble he's a phone call away. Callie glances at me as she laughs.
Then it's my turn. I hug her tight and whisper, "I love you," in her ear. "I love you too," she quickly whispers back. "Just like Jesus said, if you have any troubles call us!" I say in a joking manner, but she knows I'm not joking.
Next was moms. The both hug her in a "mommy sandwich" as they call it. Moms cry and so does Callie. Everyone is in tears except Jesus and me, but I'm on the verge. They tell her again that she is always welcome and always will be apart of the family.
Lastly is Jude. Callie picks him up and he hugs her crying his eyes out. "I will see you everyday," Callie tells him. "Promise?" He asks in a small choked voice. "Promise," Callie confirms. Jude cries into her shoulder a little longer. I can see that it's hurting her to see Jude like this and to leave him.
"We should go," Bill says. I take Jude from Callie and she wipes her tears waving to everyone as she leaves out of the house and gets in the car. We all watch the car until I rounds the corner and then go into the kitchen. Jude clings to me as I sit on a chair in the kitchen. "It will be okay," I whisper. Callie asked me to watch out for Jude and that's exactly what I intend to do.
