It's been three days. Three days since I saw the girl. I know this might sound crazy but I can just tell, there's something special about her. The way her eyes lit up as she looked around the store as if it was treasure.

"Just admit it, you've been coming here three days in a row. That's more than usual. It's pretty obvious you're seeing if that one girl is here, Ellington." Jamie observes from behind her counter. I sigh and take a seat by the table.

"Okay okay, I am. I just.. I want to see her again." I admit realizing I've been holding my breath. Jamie smiles at me as if she's being a matchmaker.

"The girl's name is Rydel Lynch. I've known her brother for a while and he talks about her all the time. He's pretty protective about her." Jamie informs me. I say the name in my head a couple of times.

Rydel. Rydel Lynch. I've never heard that name before, but the name fits her perfectly. "What do you know about her?" I lean forward. Jamie changes the vinyl playing behind her desk to an Elvis Presley song.

"She got sent away for a year. Rydel started doing drugs and tried to kill herself. Riker, her brother, still doesn't get what made her start doing that and why she wanted to in the first place." My breath catches in my throat. She tried to hurt herself?

No.

She couldn't have.

I mean, she seems too bright and happy to go to such dark places in her mind. Rydel's the type of presence that just gives you a feeling when she walks into a room. Even when you don't know or even talked to her.

Heck, she probably doesn't even care about me. To her I'm probably the weird guy watching her in the music store. I just can't wait for her to come here again. If she ever does again. She has to come again, why wouldn't she? The way she acted in here and everything, I find it hard for her to not come back.

Suddenly, a crazy idea popped into my mind. I looked at Jamie and a smile was already across her face. "What can I do for you Mr. Ratliff?"

~

It's Wednesday. The middle of the next week after I told Jamie my plan. Today was the day it was going to go into action. I couldn't wait to see her again. I slide the vinyl into its case and place it on the counter and put the sticky note I wrote on top of it. "You sure she's coming?" I ask curiously. Jamie smiled and nodded. "I've talked to Riker and they're planning on being here soon."

I give the vinyl to Jamie and watch as the car, I guess Riker's, pulls up the side of the road. Rydel gets out wearing a light pink petticoat with her blonde hair blown in her face, her bangs covering the tips of her soft brown eyes. I shake my head leaving the daze and hide behind a vinyl shelf. I peek through as Rydel walks in. "Rydel!" Jamie exclaims and Rydel turns to her.

My heart starts beating faster.

"I have a special gift for you from someone." She says giving Rydel the vinyl I picked out for her to listen to. I watch her eyes land on it as she observes the cover and starts reading the sticky note.

I find myself sneaking out the back door before she could react.
