Thomas

"Did you sleep anything at all last night?", Dylan's concerned expression made Thomas feel guilty as he silently mumbled a no while shaking his head.

He hadn't had a good night's sleep in weeks. It was like something kept him up, like something told him that if he were to fall asleep he would never wake up again. It had gotten to the point where he would sleep about an hour a night and wake up crying or screaming because of a nightmare. He had only told parts of this to Dylan but he knew he would not be able to hide it for much longer. Thomas needed help, but due to Dylan's situation he didn't want to be a bother so he simply chose not to tell Dylan more than necessary. In fact Thomas hadn't told anyone about his problems. He had stopped going to the doctors a long time ago pretending everything was fine, it was't. Nothing was fine anymore. Thomas was having battles with himself everyday, he was a bomb of emotions ready to explode.

Apparently Thomas had spaced out cause Dylan was waving his hands in front of him repeating his name over and over. Thomas sighed looking down.

''What's going on inside that head of yours?'', Dylan asked forcing Thomas to look up into his eyes.

In that moment Thomas almost felt as if he was going to explode and tell Dylan about everything, but he didn't. Instead he just shrugged and said that they should probably go back to bed since they had to work tomorrow.

Thomas didn't sleep that night. He wasn't even sure if he actually tried at all. His eyes felt dry, like he hadn't shut them in ages. He was a mess. All he wanted was to run into Dylan's room and talk to him about everything, but his thoughts prevented him from doing so. He felt the voices getting louder again. Dylan wouldn't wake up in a few hours and that scared Thomas. He didn't know if he would be able to fight the voices by himself this time. He felt like the shadows in the room were talking to him, it wasn't just the voices anymore. Despite his eyes being dry he started to cry, he cried until there wasn't anything left to cry. Then he started to scream in frustration. This couldn't be real, shadows couldn't talk, and the voices couldn't be real. Right?
