Chapter 1: They Meet

Lukas' POV
It was Friday morning and I was headed to school with Ryan and Tyler. Ryan is on the football team with me and Tyler has been my friend since middle school. We were headed past the beach on our way to school. It was so crisp and refreshing hearing the waves and feeling the wind during spring. The birds were chirping and the flowers were growing nicely. I looked down at the beach and saw people playing volleyball. It's probably the volleyball team, because when we are normally doing sprints for practice, they are normally practicing serving and all their other volleyball things. Ryan waved his hand in front of my face and laughed "Zoning out, again?" I jumped slightly and chuckled "yup, it's pretty normal for that to happen, huh?" Ryan punched me and I grabbed my arm "ouchhh" he looks me in the eye "Better not zone out during practice, coach will get angry" I nodded again "yeah -" I shivered at the thought "when coach is angry, he's angry" Both Ryan and Tyler laughed at my reaction and I smiled. Tyler chimed in "Aren't Ashton, Jack, Matt and Tate on the volleyball team?" Ryan nodded "Yeah I hear they're pretty good, have you seen them play, Luke?" I shook my head "no, not at all" Ryan smiles "since you love the beach, why don't we just go check for ourselves?" I shrug "yeah why not" Tyler nods and winks at Ryan and they both walk ahead of me as we all walk down the stairs together to the sand. We get down to the sand and began walking, it was a pretty chill morning. We walk towards the volleyball team and the players on the court practicing now are the ones we named before (Ashton, Jack, Matt and Tate) and then the other guys were taking turns with them, so as this game went on the rest of them were sitting on the sidelines for now. Tyler goes up to one of the guys "eyyy" they do their handshake and chuckle about some stuff. I walk closer and introduce myself with a smile "Heyyy I'm Lukas, nice to meet ya." the guy chuckles "what's up Luke? I'm Harry" we do our guy handshake then he introduced me to the others. Apart from meeting all he guys, Ryan and Tyler introduce me to their friends in particular and as I'm smiling and talking with them before I knew it everything was black.

*a while passes by*
I scrunch my forehead and slowly blink my eyes and groan. I look up and all I see is the pretty blue sky. It makes me so happy being on the beach. Anyways, I slowly start to sit up as everyone is shouting my name and asking if I was okay. There was this one guy, who was closer than everyone else. He was leaning over me making sure I was alright. I groan and hold my hand to my head "ughh, what the hell happened, I feel like I'm having a hangover" The guy leans over and sighs with relief "Whew-" He exhaled "I didn't hurt you that bad" he looks at me "I'm so sorry about that, what a way to introduce myself, I'm Mason." he smiles then pauses "I really didn't mean to hit you in the head with a volleyball, I thought I was smooth but I guess not so much anymore, especially with first impressions" I laughed and my face brightened up as I began to feel happy again and Mason's eyes widened. He looked like he was blushing but I couldn't completely tell because he made his arm cover his face then stood up. He looked down at me and held his hand out. "Here, let me at least help you up" I sigh to myself and smile as I thought to myself. Although we just met, I can already tell I'm going to have some interesting moments with this guy.
