Chapter 21: 22

Caeli had just went to sleep and I was tired as hell. I had just finished up my essay for my English class. College was no joke and I was so tired of it. I felt bad for people who actually went to university. I just did it online.

Sighing, I got up and went into my bed. As soon as I laid down on it, I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up early this morning to start some of my assignments that were do later on.

After I did that I went into this kitchen and started making some breakfast for Caeli and I.

I made us some eggs, grits, and sausage. As soon as I finished Caeli woke up and came into the kitchen.

"Gimme," she said as she saw the food.

"Girl you betta say please," I said.

"Please mommy," Caeli said, pouting slightly.

I fixed her up a plate of food and sat it at the table for her to eat.

"Can I have some orange juice?", she asked, politely.

I nodded and went into the fridge.

We ran out.

"We don't have anymore sweetie, you want some chocolate milk?", I asked her.

"No, I want orange juice," she pouted.

"We can go get some," I sighed.

"Yay!", she exclaimed. I grabbed her plate and covered it in foil paper then I put it in the microwave.

"Go put on your shoes," I told her. She nodded her head and went into her room. I just slipped on some slippers I had hanging around. I got my car keys and waited for Caeli.

She came out and then we left to go to the store.

"When we get in don't touch nothing, cuz' I'm not buying it," I told her. She pouted and I got her out of her car seat.

We went into Walmart and headed straight to the juice isle. I grabbed some orange juice and started heading back to the front of the store.

I froze up as I saw a familiar face. I turned back around, trying to avoid them.

"Fae? Is that you?", I heard them say. I groaned internally.

"Yeah, it's me," I said as I turned around and faced Engrid.

"Is that your daughter?", she asked.

"Yes, her name is Caeli," I said. I noticed a little girl with her.

"This is my daughter Sophie," she said. I nodded.

"Well I-

"I got her stuff," Jackson said as he came back with a ton of hair accessories.

"Jackson is the baby's father," Engrid smiled.

"Wow. You always had to have my sloppy seconds," I said.

"Who said he was ever your seconds," Engrid asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I-I can't deal with this. Have a nice day," I said as I walked away with Caeli.

"Fae wait!", Jackson said. I walked faster, but he caught up.

"What do you want?", I asked him.

"I want us to get along and I want to see Caeli," Jackson said.

"Who he?", Caeli asked.

"Well here she is. You just saw her now leave me alone," I said as I walked away.

"You know that's not what I meant. I want us to be a family," Jackson said.

"You should have thought about that 4 years ago and besides you seem like you have your own little family back there,'' I said.
