Jay writhed on the bed in agony pulling desperately at the restraints trying to break free. He had to get to the thing that his body most desired, needed. The pain was unbearable. It wasn't supposed to be like this. He was supposed to be strong, beautiful, all powerful and alluring.
“Let me go!” The man groaned his red curls clinging to his damp forehead as he continued to yank at the chains. They cut into his wrists and were beginning to heal much slower since he had gotten that first and final taste. “You lied to me! Dave you lied!” Jay's back arched off the mattress as he screamed in delirium cursing his mate and calling out for his touch at the same time.
“Please Jay,” Tom begged “save your energy.” It was the one thing that Jay couldn't have and the only thing he needed. Vampires could only get energy from their mate, the vampire that had turned them, and Jay's had gone missing. It was a cruel thing to do, Dave had mad Jay only hours before disappearing.
“Do you think he will make it?” Max asked from his spot at the end of the bed. He rang the ice cold towel in his hands looking nervously over at Tom.
The thinner man sucked his lip into his mouth this was a familiar scenario for him, and it never ended well. Tom opened his moth to speak but paused and stood when he saw the dark man in the doorway.
Siva walked towards the bed followed by a short woman, his mate, Nareesha. “How long has he been like this.” The voice was strong, deep and confident. It almost seemed to bounce off the walls soothing Tom and making Max tremble.
“Nearly two days.” Max down cast his eyes as the man advanced. He was meant to be the next healer when Nareesha got pregnant but so far he had proven weak.
“Nareesha will administer the transfusion.” Siva nodded turning to walk out of the room.
“Czar!” Tom called immediately regretting his tone of voice. “Czar, what if he becomes dependant.”
Siva seemed to ponder the question for only a moment more before concluding. “Then we've started a war.” and with that the man was gone not once turning to face his clan.
The youngest of the clan were left to attempt the impossible and repair the mess that the prodigal son had left behind. The room was tense, it would have been scilent if it wasn't for Jay's agonized moans that were soon growing softer, there wasn't much time.
Nareesha looked at Max with sympathy in her eyes before dismissing the boys. “Without the transfusion he will die.” The woman said giving Tom's wrist a soft squeeze. “Siva can't handle that blood on his hands.”
Tom nodded as the woman went to work with the bag of blood, he wonder just who's blood would be on her hands and Jay's veins.
It's said that it all started as a curse, A witch in the Orient had cursed her own people. Appalled by her tribe's greedy consumption of human flesh to gain power and strength she cursed them, no longer would they eat the flesh of there own people but be cursed to drink the blood of the one's they loved. Hidden from the light for centuries all these things did was consume, only gaining power by completely draining their mate. With the thirst for power still in their dead heart's they were forced to live out their days in isolated agony.
After centuries of suffering the “Vampires” as they had become known in the new world found a new way to survive. Upon centuries of resisting the power lust to drain their true mate the vampires bred and created a new creature one that could survive off the energy of a true mate eventually growing stronger as one, these creature became know as the “Psylagiri”
