There was two Air Force teams, the scouts and escorts, and the bombers and force. Daichi and Suga were the top ranking of the scouts and escorts, they took people to designated missions and they scouted out new bases and new enemy lines. Daichi and Suga were a team, well they were, approximately 2 months ago Daichi went out on a mission. This mission was to scout an area no one has ever dared to go.
Suga's flash back:
"Daichi, we have a mission for you" the commander pointed at a spot on the map and Suga's heart dropped.
"Just Daichi?"
"Yes, Sugawara do you have a problem?"
"Well we are a team"
"Daichi goes alone on this one this is final"
Daichi nodded at the commander and walked out to start getting ready. Suga rushed after him
"Daichi don't go please"
"I have to, they will make me"
"Daichi.." Suga's voice wavered slightly as he looked up and bit his tongue "promise you'll come home!"
"I promise Suga, you won't even realize I'm gone" Daichi smiled, that smile that reassures you that everything will be ok, soft and sweet, kind.
A week later
"Sir, Daichi has still not returned"
"Suga I understand you are worried, we will send a team to go search for his aircraft"
"....thank you sir" Suga left the captains office and went back to dining hall sitting with his team. He pounded his fists to the table "DAMNIT!!!" He shrunk putting his elbows on the table and his hands locked behind his head. "Daichi come home" Suga's eyes started to tear up as he threw his hands down onto the table and stood up storming out of the dining hall.
Back to the present
Suga was sitting at the desk in his small dorm room at the base he slammed his hands down. He reached for the phone hands shaking he dialed the number for Nishinoya and Asahi's room. There was a lazy groggy answer
"Hmmm hello?"
"Nishinoya have you been asleep"
"Well...."
Suga slightly chuckled and sighed
"I need to talk, can you come over to my dorm soon"
"Yeah I can, what's wrong"
"I'll tell you when you get here" Suga started to feel a bit tense and Noya could here it in his voice
"Ok I'll be there soon"
Nishinoya got ready and told Asahi to put on some clothes, when they were both dressed the went to Suga's dorm room and knocked on the door.
"Come in" Nishinoya opened the door and went inside to see Suga sitting on the edge of his bed with tears in his eyes.
"Suga!" Nishinoya ran over to him and kneeled down. "Suga what's going on?!"
"He's not back Noya" Asahi stood in the doorway and looked on feeling bad for Suga, Suga had lost a big part of his life and Asahi couldn't imagine what he was going through.
"Noya" Suga's voice sounded flat and lifeless, "we have to go find him, they didn't send a search party."
"They said they would"
Suga held up the records of every team sent out and every team that came in "no rescues have been sent out since then"
"How in the hell did you get those"
"I've had two months Noya I have my ways"
"True, but I don't get why they wouldn't send someone out to find Daichi, he's one of the top ranking pilots"
"I don't know either but there is a chance he could still be out there, we have to go, please Noya come with me"
"Suga it's just a chance, I know how you fee-"
"NO YOU DONT!!" Suga grips his pants bunching up the fabric and clenching his teeth "Even if it's the smallest chance..." He looks up at Nishinoya with tear filled eyes almost over flowing till he blinks and they fall down his reddened cheeks and more tears follow, his voice begins to crack. "Even if.. It's the smallest.. Smallest chance.. I WILL SAVE HIM!!" Nishinoya's eyes widened as he hugged Suga who was now looking back down and trying to stop his tears, he could hear Suga sniffling and feel him shaking
"Ok.. Ok we will, we will go find Daichi"
"Thank you.. Thank you Noya"
Asahi was still standing in the door way shocked, he walked carefully over to Noya and Suga.
"Suga, I would like to help"
"Thank you Asahi"
"Of course"
Suga dried his eyes and cleaned up his face as Noya asked
"When are we going?"
"Now."
"What why?"
"The sooner, the better chance he's ok"
"Ok." Asahi and Noya agreed at once. They both looked at Suga who was staring at the wall intently with his elbows on his knees and his hands locked under his chin.
"...Suga?" He snapped out of it to Asahi's voice
"Yes?"
"We are going to go get ready"
"Okay.. We will meet up at the helicopter pad"
A few moments later Suga was waiting at the helicopter pad and saw Asahi and Noya walk up to him.
"Are you ready" they looked at each other and back at Suga and nodded. The three of them climbed into the helicopter and started it up, you could hear the blades chopping through the air and the sounds of the air being pushed to the ground. The helicopter took off and the headed towards the area that Daichi was on mission. Asahi was flying the helicopter while Nishinoya and Suga were looking for any traces of Daichi.
Daichi:
It had been a while since Daichi had gone on mission, if he had to guess he would say two months at most he lost track of the days and couldn't find anything to keep track. A few weeks back he had started running low on food, and clean water. He had crash landed in an area with almost no resources. Its been a while, most of his wounds are infected and he refuses to use his drinking water to was them out. His leg was broken so he couldn't leave the area that he landed in. He had been eating the bear minimum to survive, he was dying. He knew he had to get help fast but no one came for him, no one ever sent help. He wondered how Suga was doing, every day he would remember Suga's smile and know he had to keep fighting. Everyday he would hear Suga's laugh and cry knowing that laugh probably has gone away. Daichi head a familiar sound go by, the sound of a helicopter, he jumped up forgetting about his leg only to cripple down in agony he dragged himself towards the broken body of the helicopter as he looked up and saw what he believed to be a helicopter his vision was blurring from loss of nutrients and hydration. He grabbed the flare gun from under the passenger seat and lit it shooting it up in the air and hoping to god they saw it. Even if it was enemy team, he hoped someone had seen it.
Suga:
As they were flying and looking around Suga looked up to see a flare making a trail in the sky Suga pin pointed the exact spot it came from and shouted through the mic
"A FLARE, ASAHI RIGHT OVER LETS LOOK"
"Understood"
They hovered over the spot and saw burnt trees and scrap metal everywhere, this is definitely where he crashed.
"ASAHI GET ME CLOSE TI THE GROUND, NOYA LET THE LADDERS DOWN"
Asahi brought the helicopter closer to the ground and Nishinoya let the ladders down Suga put on his gear and bullet proof jacket. He grabbed a gun and headed down the ladder.
"O-oh...my god..." Suga's voice came through the mic cracked and teary.
"What do you see Suga??!"
"Daichi.. I see... Daichi"
"Is he alive"
"I-I can't tell I'm going down closer"
"Be careful"
Suga dropped to the ground he looked up and saw Daichi, laying with a flare gun in his hands covered in blood. He had infected wounds his face was pale and his stomach looked caved in. He was covered in dirt his clothes were torn.
"Suga?... Suga what do you see"
"He's... He's breathing"
"That's good"
"He's badly injured"
"Bring him aboard we will take him to the emergency room"
"Al...alright"
Suga walked over to Daichi carefully with tears welling up in his eyes.
"Daichi...???"
"S..."
"Hey be careful please.. Don't force yourself to say anything"
"Suga... Y..you came for me..."
"Hey hey, of course I did, come here we gotta get you on the helicopter"
"Ok..."
Asahi had landed the helicopter a little ways away, Suga kneeled down and put Daichi's hands around his neck and put his hands under Daichi's thighs and lifted Daichi onto his back. Suga could feel tears rushing down his cheeks as he started to walk
"Don't you dare give up on me Daichi."
