Ok, so for those of you who don't know what Dungeons and Dragons is, it's a very complicated role playing game that every traditional geek knows how to play involving LOTS and LOTS of dice. My parents (my dad at least) love it, and my dad has been running campaigns with my brother and cousins for YEARS. They used to play with their friends too, but those all broke up, or they moves away. I've resisted for years, but Mom and Ryan (my cousin whose my age and is OBSESSED with D&D- he reads the manuals like most kids his ahe play video games) finally got fed up with Dad's improve DM ing (GM usually means Game Master but in this case it's Dungeon Master. They run everything, they know everything, and they try and kill the heroes) and Mom started her own campaign, but she's using a pre-made one, set up by professionals. She convinced me to play. The group we play with (Me, a sarcastic barely fourteen teenage girl- Dad, a 46 year old man with four children- Ryan, a 14 year old teenage boy who knows the rules better than anyone and knows it- Lincoln, my gangly 16 year old brother who is notorious for disobeying dad just to do it- Daniel, the 19 year old high school drop-out who is the older brother of my sister's best friend- and Mom, a 44 year old stressed out mother trying to make this group Co operate) is kind of slow, and so in my head this whole thing plays itself out on paper for me every time. So, I'm going to write a book. These campaigns can take years, although ours is planned for one or two. Because of that (and the fact that we can only get to gather about every other Saturday) this book is going to have plenty of detail and proper pacing (the latter of which is what has been missing every other time I try to write anything). Like I already said, after it's over I'm going to go through and make it a book, because I don't actually know what the plot is yet, and things might be s little herky-jerky (like the barbarian in the first few chapters is going to suddenly change into a bard and our Paladin will magically arrive out of thin air around the same time. But whatever. This was a LONG intro chapter, so without further adieu, I will give you our characters, and get on with the story.
