She tried to kill me this time. It didn't go well.
There was a scrape against a stone, and I felt the cool blade of the sword -my sword- on my throat. Nila was standing above me, watching me with disgustingly joyful eyes. "Congratulations, you finally 'defeated' me. Did take you long enough." I taunted, keeping my composure despite the hammering of my heart.
Nila pressed the point of her sword just a little bit harder into my throat, cutting slightly yet not drawing blood. She narrowed her eyes somewhat, "at least this torture might finally end. Maybe this was the way it was supposed to be, ever think of that, Kemba darling?"
"Of course I have," a small cough escaped my lips, and I had to force a fit of them down. "However, I came to the conclusion that it would be the ridiculous. Why should a crazy bitch be the answer anyway?"
I had been pushing Nila for a while, and it wouldn't be too long 'till she'd pop. "A 'crazy bitch', huh?" Nila sneered. "I wish I could kill you in front of everyone, how unfortunate that we're in the wrong world. I guess ending this will be just as rewarding."
With no warning, Nila stabbed me in the back (how poetic of her) and as I choked on my blood and my vision faded, I couldn't stop thinking how awful -yet strangely soothing- this felt. I guess I finally knew what Nila had to go through.
