Your Half Hyena?!

I woke up in the back of smelly Gabe's car, my head in someone lap.

"He was dazzling Percy" someone says "absolutely dazzling"

"Yeah, yeah there always dazzling" another voice mutters followed by a thud and a grunt of pain

I groan, attempting to roll onto my side but a pair of hands grab me quickly, holding me in place "not so fast Rosie" Percy murmurs gently, but he does sit me up, I wince and hold my side, hissing in pain

"I feel like I just got ran over by a car" I complain "and then thrown into a lava pit" I add, frowning and looking around in confusion "whaaat are we doing in Smelly Gabe's car?" I ask, glancing at my mother in the front seat but she avoids my gaze. We sit in silence for a few moments before I've finally had enough "will someone answer my Question?!" I explode, glaring at each person in turn, only just noticing that Grovers in the car to.

"Rose , sweetheart, its a lot to take in..."

"You told Percy" I argue, pouting like a child

"And she's supposed to be the mature one" Percy mutters, earning a smack on the back of the head from me. Mom sighs and glances at me out the rear view mirror

"rose sweetie, I've been keeping something from you. And It was for your own good"

Funny how adults always say "its for your own Good" when they know their in the wrong I think to myself, my frown turning into a full blown scowl "what do you mean?" I ask, raising an eyebrow but before she can say anything else Grovers high pitched voice rings out "Sally watch out!" He screamed, causing my mom to jerk the car to the left just as a cow lands in the road in front of the car. I felt as if I was flying for a minute before I came crashing down against the seat. I heard mom scream, Percy calling out my name as the world tilted sideways and I slammed against the already broken window of the car, probably getting several piece of glass stuck in my arm. I moaned and reached out for my brother, who was reaching out for me but before our hands touched the world flipped upside down with a crash. I heard a deafening roar and Percy scream

"whoa, man what are you doing?! Wait YOUR HALF DONKEY?!?"

"Half Goat" grover replied with a grunt, followed by shattering glass. I forced my eyes open once again to find my brother, Percy, leaning over me

"W-what happened? Is mom ok?" I asks, feeling blood drip into my eye from a few cuts on my chin Oh great. I'm even MORE banged up then before.

"Come on Rosie , we gotta get outa here" Percy responded instead of answering my question, which agrivated me but I didn't complain as Percy took off my seat belt. I used the little strength I had left to catch myself as I landed on the glassy roof of the car.

"Come on, Come on let's go! He's catching up!" Grover's voice called and soon after I heard the roar again, so loud I was sure people in Africa could hear it. I pulled myself out a broken window and the site that greeted me made my eyes widen. "Um.... I didn't know you were half hyena" and I was greeted by disbelieving looks from both Grover AND Percy

" are you serious?" They both said at the same time "hyena?"

I turned bright red and glared at them, spotting my mom standing a few feet away, waiting impatiently for us. "Come on!" She cried, her eyes wide with fear as she stared at a moving form off in the distance. It was just a blur of fur to me. A big blur. "Yeah, we should go" I say, taking off in moms direction followed by grover and Percy. We raced from the woods, away from what, I don't know, but I knew it was dangerous. Every bone in my body was screaming for me to stop running but I wouldn't , I couldn't. After a few minutes of running an arch came into view, the words "camp half blood" carved into the top. Safety I thought, letting out a sigh of relief as the arch grew near. To soon, because as soon as I did a large hand reached our and grabbed my mother, screaming, into the air and squeezing her. Hard.

"Mom!!" I cried out, scrambling to a stop and forcing Percy and grover to stop with me.

"Go!" She screamed, clawing at the hand "go to the camp, you'll be safe there. Please! I love you Percy, rose, so much" she said, a soft smile gracing her lips as she reached a hand out towards us. Sobbing I reached towards her to but as soon as I did she let out an ear piercing scream and disappeared in a burst of gold dust.

"No! Mommy!" I screamed, sobbing as I struggled against Grovers hold. I looked at the monster who had killed my mom. It was huge, with a snout which was cover in a clear, slimy substance that dripped off his snout like snot. He had the head of a bull and horns to match, in his left hand he held an axe and, nothing but a piece of cloth covering his manly regions. Our eyes met and I could have sworn he grinned but before I could see anymore Percy launched himself at the monster holding a glowing sword in his right hand. I looked at grover with wide eyes and he hesitated before taking something out of his pocket and handing it to me. A pendant. Why the HECK would he give me a pendant?! Before I could yell at him the pendant in my hand transformed into a sword made out of glowing metal, like Percy's but instead of glowing green mine glowed an electric blue. Nice I thought as I launched myself at the Monster without so much as a second thought, slashing at it with all my strength. Percy and I worked in perfect sincrinization, slashing and jabbing at the monster. It swung its axe at my head and I ducked, rolling towards it and slashing at its bare legs. Wrong move. I felt a sharp pain in me chest and felt myself flying towards a tree. I had just enough time to think at least I died protecting my brother before I made contact with the tree and everything went black, once again. Yay me.
