Before you scroll down to read this story allow me to welcome you and more importantly thank you. Thank you for either the patience you have had to show while I took the time to rewrite and reorganize this story, or just for checking out this story.  I truly hope you enjoy.

I also want to warn you all.  The rating on this story is still a bit up in the air, though I am about 90 percent sure it will be rated M, so please do keep that in mind before continuing. There will be no warning besides this one if there is any "less then appropriate" chapters for you younger readers. If that displeases you I am sorry, but that is just the way I will have it.  And since we are on warnings and all allow me to place a trigger warning here as well. This story will no doubt have spelling errors, awkward wording, horrid grammar and who  knows what else.  If by me just stating that gets you rile up perhaps it is best you wait until this story is complete and fully revised (if it ever gets fully revised that is). This is not my only project I am working on, simply the only one that will be posted here for the time being. I do not mind constructive criticism, that is part of wanting to put my work out there after all, but know that this is all a first draft and no doubt subject to change whether when I have finished it or even in the middle.

Now that that is out of the way how about we get to the part you are really here for. :D Enjoy and don't forget to like or comment, and be sure to follow to stay up-to-date.

She ignored the echoing steps that sounded from behind her, as she continued her ruthless assault on the punching bag. The anger she had been taught to embrace enveloped her heart as she narrowed her eyes at the offending object. As a weekly ritual, all knew not to bother her, unless they wished to spar.

Helpless no more, she chanted to herself. Words that shouted in her mind with every hit as she honed her acquired strength. For years she felt, hopeless, helpless and useless. Now...now was was her chance to prove otherwise.

Her punches increased in speed, releasing all her frustrations that had built up in the past week or so. She herself had gotten used to being mute more or less so why couldn't others. It was a reoccurring problem no matter who she met or where she was. Strange looks, snide comments, even glares from the more hateful bunch. Yet despite it all she was the one that had to live with it not them, so if any were to be annoyed or angered it was her. Why couldn't she be the bitter one for a change?

A large heavy hand came down on her shoulder, startling her out of her thoughts. She grabbed at the hand, in order to twist it harshly behind the intruders back, but as suddenly as it had appeared it was gone.

"You'll need to be quicker than that my dear." The deep raspy voice of her mentor, friend and leader chuckled as she spun around to face him. The man she looked up to as a father and had taught her what her parents never got to (and her aunt and uncle failed to) was standing there with an ear to ear grin and crossed arms.

"That wouldn't change much would it Tom?" She spoke in a soft husky tone, her throat already dry and hurting. Only with him did she speak with. Only with him did she try or care. The man laughed, grinning like a fool at her sarcasm. The was the leader of their pack for a reason. No matter how long or hard she trained...he was always just that little bit better. She learned not to question it, nor to test it.

"Don't sell yourself short kiddo." Tom patted her head as if she was a little pup, before walking past her to the otherside of the punching bag, holding it in place for her. With a questioning look meant to ask what he was doing there with her, Augustine bounced around a moment before battering the bag once more. Tom's strength held it in place, allowing her more punches and kicks before bouncing back once more.
