Beauty in Pain

The Sun's descent in the West

Caught what breath I had.

The beauty; how marvelous.

And yet-

You're all that I think about,

All that I see.

My sun, my own personal sun,

What tragedy.

What an exquisite travesty.

We met at the corner store.

A real charmer,

A gentlemen that stole my eye.

Months passed

And not one day passed by

Where you didn't enchant me with grand stories.

It's a damned thing to be young

In love

Naive.

So tell me I'm lovely

Call me, 'yours'

Objectify my being and strip away my self-respect.

I fear too often-

And my dear, I fear our ship, she sinks,

And I loose breath far too quick.

Though, I can almost smell the Apple Blossoms

Wafting in the breeze.

How beautiful; how serene.

It's awful to admit I was instantly hooked the moment

You got on your knee

Asking, "Will you be mine?"

Of course.

I was afraid:

I couldn't be alone nor die as such.

I despise to be grime,

But I can't recall a time I never hurt

When I loved you.

Love you.

Not once do I believe I could unlove you.

Not you, not my hot, burning sun.

The sun has disappeared

And no shimmering star in the whole god-forsaken sky

Could alight the ever darkening field I lay in wake.

It started with an accident.

I forgave;

How could I ever forget?

But you,

You were so lovely!,

And promised me lovely things.

As luck has it,

Accidents occurred far too often

And my body was the proof.

You came from a broken home.

Though you were different!-

Without the ability to harm a fly.

The silence is defining in my ears

But your laughter drowned out all

And I'm warm once again.

How beautiful,

How mind numbingly beautiful.

I shall never hurt again.
