Once me and Percy had finished crying over the death of our mother, Alex pulled me to the side while annabeth talked with Percy. i kept my head down as he lead me a little whiles away from the building i had woken up in
"I'm sorry" he said after a while, hands in his pockets, looking at me with those piercing grey eyes of his. "about your mom, i mean"
"not your fault" i mumbled, keeping my eyes glued to the floor "but..the thing that killed her...its dead right?" i asked hesitantly, looking up at him. sea green met piercing gray and i sucked in a sharp breath, feeling heat rush to my cheeks get ahold of yourself Rosalie! i scolded myself, attempting to fight back the blush but it was to late.
"yeah, you killed it actually. well, you and Percy but you dealt the final blow -nice job by the way- and it disintegrated -"
"disintegrated? what do you mean?"
"Oh, um, when monsters die, instead of like, dieing the way a human would they disintegrate, turn into dust and go back to Tartarus to reform. sometimes we get lucky, at it'll take years for a monster to reform, but sometimes" he shook his head, sucking his teeth "not so much" i nod, trying to process this information. so the monster that killed my mom, wasn't really dead. it would come back, maybe not now, but maybe tomorrow, or the next day, or week, or YEAR. maybe not now but someday it would be back. and I'll be ready for it i thought, feeling white hot fury rush threw my body. i had never felt this angry before, but before i could say or do anything, Alex began to speak again
"come on, i should show you around camp, a lot of people have been wanting to meet the famous daughter of Poseidon" he said, flashing me a grin. wait, what?
"what do you mean da-" but before i could finish my sentence he was pulling me towards a large group of what i assumed where cabins, all arranged in the shape of a U.
"whoa" i couldn't help but gasp, my eyes widening. the cabins were amazing. my favorite had to be a big silver one that shone with a silver light, kind of like the full moon.
"these are the cabins. there's a cabin for every Olympian. for now, until claimed, you'll be staying in the Hermes cabin" he said, gesturing to a big cabin with kids pouring out of it and kids going in. most of the noise was coming from that one cabin
"but i thought you said i was the daughter of Poseidon" i said, trying to wrap my mind around all this information. gods. the gods, the Greek ones i had learned about in school before i was forced to drop out, gods like Zeus and Hera and hades...apparently all of them were real....
well then.
"that's what we THINK..you haven been claimed yet, but Percy has. he's the son of Poseidon, and we think...well, ya know since your his sister we assumed you were the daughter of Poseidon to." assumed? why assumed?! I mean, were twins for heavens sake!
i was just about to voice my thoughts when an arrow whizzed past my head, so close that it blew my hair into my face a little. oh, so now it was shoot Rosalie with an arrow day!? i turned towards the direction the arrow had came from, and so did Alex. a boy with blonde hair just like Alex was standing a few feet away, a bow slung over his shoulder like a one strap back pack. the only difference between them were that, while Alex's features are sharp, almost like a Hawks this boys features are soft. he stood in a relaxed manner while Alex always seemed tense, ready to fight at a moments notice. this other boy clearly wasn't much of a fighter, and i pegged him as a healing type.
"sorry" the boy said, walking over and smiling sheepishly at us, holding his hand out to me "I'm will solace, son of Apollo, don't think I've seen you around before" he says, tilting his head to the side like a confused puppy. it took every ounce of my will power not to squeeze his cheeks and shout 'kawaii' at the top of my lungs.
"I'm new" i said, grabbing will hand in a strong grip and shaking "my names Rosalie Jackson" his eyes widened a fraction at the sound of my last name
"your Percy's sister?" he asked, sounding surprised. ugh, i really hope people weren't going to start referring to me as 'Percy's sister' because that would really suck.
"yeah, and your the dude that shot an arrow at me, right?" i asked jokingly, earning a chuckle from will
"guess i am" he said, scratching the back his neck "you showing her around?" he asked, turning to Alex who nodded stiffly, a deep frown set on his face. what was his deal?
"oh. well, don't forget to stop by the archery range. maybe i can show you how to shoot a bow sometime."
"please, you don't seem to know how to shoot one yourself" i said, rolling my eyes and making will laugh
"trust me, when I'm in a tight spot i never miss. see you around rose" he says, a grin still on his face as he makes his way back to a group of kids with the same blonde hair and pretty blue eyes. his siblings, i guess. i turned back to Alex, smiling, but the smile quickly melts off my face when i see his expression
"why the long face?" i ask, confused
"nothing" is all i get as an answer before he starts walking closer to the cabins "come on Jackson" he calls over his shoulder, not looking back.
this was going to more interesting then i thought.
