"So, why exactly are we going to buy really cheap and crappy makeup from CVS?" Eric asks, trying to catch up to me. I jog towards the Rite Aid and smile over at him. His black hair is all messed up from running and his smile makes me smile even brighter.
"Excuse you," I scoff. "We're going to Rite Aid to buy cheap and crappy makeup."
"Fine, why are we going to Rite Aid to buy cheap and crappy makeup?" Eric groans as we enter Rite Aid.
"My first wish on the list is for a guy to do my makeup." I tell him, walking to the makeup aisle. I pick out the first eye shadow kit I see. I grab some dollar mascara with some bright red lipstick. "So congrats, Eric Levitt, you are the first guy to touch my face with makeup. Remind you, I've been doing my makeup since eighth grade and I don't want anyone messing up the way I look."
"I've never touched makeup in my life." Eric rolls his eyes as we go to checkout. "Here, let me pay." He pulls out his wallet and pays for the makeup.
"Thanks." I smile at him, "also, you have touched makeup before."
"Really? When?" Eric chuckles, confused.
"Remember that time you dated that girl?" I ask. "Oh wait. I'm gonna need to be more detailed, aren't I?"
Eric pushes me a little bit and I stumble a bit. "I don't including kissing as touching makeup."
"You should." I smile. "So, where are we gonna do the makeup?"
"I would say my place, but..." Eric looks away, smiling.
"But?" I push, wanting to know more.
"Nevermind." He shakes his head.
"Eeeeric," I groan, tugging on the sleeve of his jacket.
A slight blush creeped up his neck and onto his cheeks. In fact, I wouldn't have even noticed it if we hadn't been walking under a street light at the exact time. "It's really nothing, Naomi."
"Do your parents know that you're with me?" I ask, confused as to what could be at his place.
"Well...not really?" He says in a questioning matter.
"Is that why?"
"Um, uh...yeah, sure. Yes." He mumbles.
I cock an eyebrow at him but, I shrug it off. My hand stays on the sleeve of his jacket, walking closer to him. "You're warm." I whisper.
"Thanks," he whispers back, smiling. He walks closer to me until we're pressed together at the hips. I mean....my hip and his leg. "Are you cold?" He softly asks, leaning down for me to hear him.
"I'll be okay." I smile up at him, my eyes looking up at his.
"You can have my jacket," he tells me as we approach our makeup making destination, under the park's willow tree.
"You worry about me too much." I roll my eyes taking a seat on the left side of the bench.
"I've been worrying since seventh grade." He chuckles, sitting next to me on my right. We turn to face each other and sit crossed legged, the makeup between us. Eric looks at the makeup and then back at me. "Just to confirm, first eyeshadow."
"Yep." I nod.
"Then eyeliner." He continues.
"Did we buy eyeliner?" I ask.
Eric quickly check the bag for anything else. "Oh, never mind."
"Anyway..."
"Mascara."
"Uh huh." I smile.
"And we close with lipstick." He finishes.
"Perfect," I smile, "please don't make me look horrible."
"No promises." He chuckles.
"I'm gonna have so much fun with wish number two." I say under my breath as Eric stars picking out eyeshadow.
