Reida Katherine Hood. She was the girl on the playground playing by herself. She was an outcast. Before her parents died they would read her a fairy tail story every night.Oh how she wished her life was a fairy tale, just like the way her parents told them. She missed her parents some days more than others but at least she still has Gran.
Reida was stuck again with another late shift so by now it was dark. She hated driving at night. She was always afraid of hitting an animal she couldn't see. The ride is lonely and quieter than what she likes so she turns on the radio though she doesn't pay to much attention. All it is really is something about a murder or two and that they think they're getting close.
She was halfway home when her old beat up car started sputtering. This was not a good sign for Reida. She opens the car door and a big gust of cold air came to her. Shoot, Reida thought to herself, I never grabbed a jacket. She looks around the dusty car and saw nothing. Just when she's about to give up her eyes drift to a boxes edge under the seat beside her. Pulling it out careful she finds a beautifully sewn, blood red cloak. She carefully puts it on and, as she gets out, looked in the windows admiring it. If you ask her it complements the green eyes and shoulder length brown hair she has. She then gets out of the piece of junk that suffices her for a car and inspects it. A tires pretty flat but the big thing, she realizes, is she's out of gas. "Shoot." She whispers under her breath and then she starts walking.
It's really is a cold night. Reida thinks as she keeps walking down the pavement. Soon she finds herself by a dirt road or maybe a path but whatever it is it could lead to civilization. So she starts down the path careful with each step as if not to disturb the forest. But the forest was already disturbed. She hears something like footsteps following her. Soon they turn into growls or grunts. Keep calm. It's not too close. But they quickly pick up pace, moving faster and faster. She turns and swears she sees the creature. A frightening beast almost bigger than her. With teeth sharp enough to tear her flesh clean of the bone.
She races quickly through the the path that begins to close in. Just when she thinks she's ahead her feet give way beneath her slamming her body hard against the rocky dirt path. She sits up and tries to stand but there is a pain in her ankle sealing her fate. Brushing the waves of hair out of her face, Reida slides against a tree and tries to become invisible. Maybe it won't see me.
Slowly she turns her head and could see the beast step out from the bush. But it indeed wasn't a beast though he was frightening. The monstrous man before her steps closer and closer. She can clearly see him as the moon's light hits the creature. He looks around cautiously. There's something in his grey eyes but she can't look close enough to catch what it is and she not about to let go of the breath she holds. He calls for her but she doesn't answer. Slowly she crawls backwards trying to get better hidden. But then she's frozen. A loud crack echoes through the woods. As the man walks towards her she closes her eyes waiting for her end.
Then BAM! A defending sound rings through her ears. However, she feels nothing. She carefully turns her head and sees another man. He's tall with darker hair. "Are you ok miss?" He crouches in front of her before continuing. "Don't worry he's not dead I just knocked him out. Can you walk." She shakes her head. This isn't right. He takes off his thick red flannel jacket and wrapped it around her.
He goes in closer and as he does Reida reaches behind her. Once she feels the cold slick feel in her hand she waits. Slowly he puts his arms under her but with one quick movement Reida is on him. She fights to bring the knife to his stomach.
"You weren't suppose to get hurt." She spits at him as the knife edges closer. This time she won't leave any evidence. The man she fights looks at her. She has crazy eyes. The subtle green is now vibrant as she became engulfed in the story. Her story. She makes a mistake and she done. The man is onto her and with a sloppy snap of his arm she's out.
Before her is Gran. "How was your day dear." She asked, turned around cooking. Gran asks again but Reida doesn't reply. Slowly she's walking forward red cloak hanging from one shoulder. Just as Reida raises the knife to strike, she awakens. Once she tries to sit up she finds that her hands are pinned down and so are her legs.
"Help! Please the wolf will get ma and Gran. I have to get Jack" She cries but only one person answers. A girl with light hair and wearing white begins to speak. "Reida no wolf is going to get you. You need to stay calm." She walks closer with a needle containing a yellow liquid. Once injected Reida feels herself fall back to sleep. "Now miss, this is going to help you to stop seeing things." After taking out the needle she begins to whisper "Your name is Reida Katherine Hood. You are in the local jail for the mentally insane. Miss, you killed Gran and others. You're no longer going to hurt anyone. Alright?" Her voice fades along with Reida as the lady in white repeats her words again and again.
