chapter nine: Nice to meet you?

"What?" I blinked in shock.

"You're looking at him alright," Kaya said. I was amused and scoffed.

"You're kidding me right?" I asked. I didn't mean it in a rude kind of way, like I'm laughing at Thomas but it's pretty unbelievable. I'm hanging out with the son of the guy that I'm supposed to investigate? This is going to be a tough mission.

"We ain't kiddin' ya Miss Zoella," Ki Hong said as he nodded his head. I stared at Thomas as he looked away. Thomas. Guy I'm hanging out with. Son of the man that I'm going to investigate. Such an interesting fact I have learnt today. I cringe at the thought of having friendship issues due to my mission.

"Okay then. Nice to meet you?" I said with no confidence.

"Yeah, hi," was the reply I got from Thomas.

"Well... Do you have a matter with that?" Ki Hong looked at me questionably.

"No, not at all. I'm just surprised, that's all," I replied with a cheeky smile.

All of them looked at me suspiciously and I tried to change the topic. They looked like they have already forgotten about what I have asked but the topic of Thomas being the dean's son? It was lingering in my mind for a long time.
