Day's POV:

She saved my life, again. Now she is swimming far away from us and we don't know how to deal with it. She keeps swimming farther and farther like she is trying to outrun her problems, you can't outrun things like that trust me I've tried. She finally stops and gets out of the water and starts to walk back. Can she go any slower? I get out of the water to meet her and I see the streaks tears have left on her face.

"I'm ok," she says but she doesn't sound very convincing.

"No you're not. Come on." I wipe the fresh tears away and lead her to a quiet place to calm her down.

I can tell she is lost in thought but I let her stay there because now her tears are gone. I'm looking at the waves and our friends who have gone back to talking. June suddenly draws in a sharp breath, I return my attention to her and notice the tears have returned.

"Hey, June," I say sitting up straight, her head is at an awkward angle against my chest now but she still doesn't move. "June."

She jumps then quickly wipes her eyes thinking I didn't see her.

"Why did you swim away?"

"I don't exactly know, I guess I didn't want to be there if you died because I would feel like it would be my fault."

"But it wouldn't be your fault."

"If you drowned it would've been because I didn't get to you fast enough."

"No it wouldn't."

"Don't argue Daniel Altan Wing."

"Yes ma'am."

That gets a grin out of her, the tears start to recede and I feel better. "Race ya to the water," I challenge.

"One, two, three." she counts off then full out sprints over the dunes while I struggle to keep up. She runs into the water until it is up to her waist and dives. She swims all the way to our friends and maybe a little father. I am standing at the waters edge looking at her when she turns around and yells at me, "What you looking at?"

"You."

"Well thanks Captain Obvious."

"You're welcome."

"You're being annoying, get in the water already." I take one step forward and the water is up to my ankles.

June's POV:

"I have to everything myself," I grumble as I swim back to Day. First I swim to Tess and pull her into my plan. We swim up to Day together like a predator stalker it's prey.

"Hey ladies," Day looks a little panicked, "What are you doing?"

Tess and I have become close friends over the years, Day won't see this coming. I want to say sorry in advance to him but lying to him would be mean.

Tess walks out of the water and behind Day. His gaze follows her take a chance to dead leg him, I don't intend to knock him down just to drag his attention back to me. He whips around forgetting about Tess.

"What was that for?"

I don't reply but I take a step to the side as Tess barrels towards his knocking him into the ocean. Quickly we swim out into the water before he can get to us. When Day comes up we are halfway back to Eden and Pascao. We are all laughing, poor Day he didn't know what was coming for him.
