Roman Torchwick smiled to himself. As he walked down the dark street, he couldn't help but feel the glory. He pumped his chest more, his eyes taking in every second of the terrified faces that ran. Aaaand it did help that he was being followed by 17 White Fang soldiers. Roman opened the door to the dust shop then tilted his hat towards the soldiers.

"After you." Roman said as he bowed. The White Fang soldiers piled into the tiny place, leaving 13 soldiers to keep watch outside.

"You know the drill young man. I'm sure you've heard of the rumors already." Roman said in a bored voice. The young man shook his head, confused as to what was happening. Roman's mood changed instantly.

"Dust. In the bag. Now." Roman commanded. Roman suddenly heard a commotion coming from outside. Roman walked outside to find that all 13 WhiteFang soldiers had been knocked unconscious by a certain male.

"Well well well, if it isn't Mister Fall." Roman joked, raising his cane and popping the end of it. Flint stood defiantly at the end of the cane, the blast aimed for his heart. When Mercury had escaped him, he had roamed the city. As soon as he spotted Roman, he knew that Roman was his last hope of finding Cinder. Flint's hand suddenly shot up before Roman could pull the trigger, grabbing the cane and throwing it away from Roman.

"Well that was rude." Roman said before Flint knocked him into the shop, breaking the glass with Roman's body. Flint then used his semblance, emitting electricity from his staff and using it to knock out the other White Fang soldiers. Flint then picked up Roman's struggling figure, a dangerous look in his eye. When he spoke, his voice matched the dangerous mood his eyes displayed.

"Where is Cinder?"

----

Roman walked uneasily, Flint following behind him. The red-head felt the sweat beading down his face as the possible consequences leaked into his mind.

They were suddenly in front of the factory, "A little bit too soon" Roman thought. Roman lead Flint to the back of the factory where a secret entrance had been opened, allowing entry.

"Roman! Did you get the dust?" Cinder yelled at the male. When Roman hadn't closed the door, she knew something was off. It took only a glance into his nervous eyes for her to know. Her eyes widened for a slight second before she fired an explosive dust Crystal behind Roman, prompting the intruder out of his hiding place.

Flint soared past Roman, his staff already transforming into a sword. Cinder activated her semblance, taking a slight step backwards and then charging to meet Flint head-on. They clashed blades, Flint stopping for a slight second just to gaze at her eyes.

Flint pulled back, jumping from Cinder.

"It's been a long time, Cinder." Flint said, the emotion barely being kept off of his face. He so badly wanted to run to her, to envelop her, to tell her everything but he knew that if he did do that, he'd receive a blade through his heart.

"Greetings, Flint." Cinder said, her now now in hand aiming an arrow at Flint. "And goodbye."

She pulled her hand back, then released. The arrow flew......

----

For the six months Flint and her daughter had been missing, Cinder had gone crazy. So much so that she started hearing voices in her mind telling her to do things, things that the old her would never have done. Kill that man in that ally, burn that builiding, and so on. She had just called them her instincts, instincts that were dormant. Ever since, Cinder had followed everything her instincts had told her to do. She committed countless crimes, but she began to ask herself why. Why did she kill that man, why did she help rob a bank? Flint would have advised her not to, kept her from doing the things she did.

She soon came to the conclusion that she needed Flint in order to remain pure and not the crime-committing monster she had become. So, when Cinder held the arrow aimed at Flint's heart and let go, it took her only a second to realize what she had done. That was her last chance at returning to her old life, but not it would be gone once again.

The arrow struck home, blood spilling everywhere.
