jimin could hear the sound of his own heart hammering in his chest despite the loud chattering and bustling of the people inside the cafe. his eyes scanned around and his breath hitched when he spotted a familiar face, the person he missed so much, sitting at the corner by the window, at their favorite spot.
Yoongi hyung..
"you haven't changed at all, brat."
jimin took in the sight in front of him. yoongi still had pastel pink hair and a gummy smile that jimin loved so much, but there was something else.
His eyes were shining brighter.
yoongi was practically glowing and jimin thought yoongi had never been so beautiful.
"—you always come late," yoongi paused when he noticed the tears pooling in jimin's eyes, his smile softened, "and you're still a crybaby."
"i missed you, yoongi hyung"
"i missed your annoying ass too, jiminnie."
"hyung, I'm so sorry—"
"why don't we order first? i'm starving."
jimin nodded, wiping his tears away before the waiter could see. despite what happened between the two males, yoongi didn't let the younger explain nor apologize, and jimin knew he was forgiven already. no words were needed. they had a connection that could not be broken after all.
"you're looking good," yoongi started, "i'm assuming everything is going well for you?"
jimin nodded as he chew his food.
"where are you staying right now? are you working again?"
"i'm still looking for a job and, uhm, i'm staying with a friend."
yoongi cocked an eyebrow.
"his name is jungkook," jimin smiled, a flush of pink tinted his cheeks as he thought of the said male and how close they had become in the past two months of living together.
living with jungkook had been a bliss. jimin had never felt so loved and cared for in awhile, it felt too good to be true. the warmth of jungkook's arms, wrapped around his tiny waist, jungkook's beautiful voice that lulled him to sleep every night and jungkook's toothy smile that greeted him the moment his eyes opened in the morning— if jimin had a choice, he would never leave Jungkook's side.
jimin was far from perfect, he was still a little bent and a bit broken, but jungkook reached out to him and held the pieces of his heart.
"the name doesn't ring a bell. have i met him before?"
jimin shook his head. "I've only met him recently—"
yoongi frowned. "Jimin—"
"i know, hyung. it's wrong to trust people so easily and i should've learned my lesson because of what happened with previous relationship, but hyung—" jimin could feel his heart picking up speed. he knew what yoongi was thinking, and he didn't want to hear it. jungkook deserved better than that.
"jungkook is different. he's not jaehyun and he wouldn't be like jaehyun. jungkook is jungkook," jimin took a deep breath, "and I love him."
